Title: 6 Seconds
Rating: G
Disclaimer: Own nothing, Get nothing… still
A/N: I was watching the episode 'Blood Lust' from the 3rd season and this popped into my head. Just for reference- This is the scene where Grissom has Sara then Judy drag Warrick across the floor for an experiment.
Ever since Sara hadgotten on this case, Grissom had been acting weird. Pulling her out of a mandatory seminar to help him, Long glances, flirtatious comments, and some unexplainable intensity with her.
"I need you."
Grissom's words resonated through her head for the whole case. That was the first time he'd ever admitted that he needed her. It felt good. Then there was the moment when she was telling him about the article on DNA extraction from sweat.
"I don't need it, I've got you."
It wasn't just that he said it, it was the way he stared at her afterwards. It made Sara's stomach flip flop. When he left the room, she just shook her head in disbelief.
Which led to this moment.
Never in all her life did Sara think she would be jealous of Judy. The secretary. Well, not Judy so much as Judy's right hand. As Grissom pulled Judy into the break room, all Sara could do was stare at Grissom's large hand wrapped around Judy's smaller one.
Sara's eyebrows furrowed and her hands landed on her hips creating a stance somewhere between curiosity and self protective jealousy. The contact only lasted 6 seconds but to Sara it could have been an hour.
After Grissom released her hand and Judy hauled Warrick across the carpet, Sara zoned back in and the moment passed. Later on that night, when Sara was alone in her apartment she knew she'd come back to those 6 seconds.
She'd wonder if Judy knew what that moment meant. How Sara longed to know what the calloused skin of Grissom's hand felt like against hers. She'd wonder if Judy knew how lucky she was. She doubted she even gave it a second thought.
Sara was pulled back to the present when Grissom began talking about the case. She could still sense that intensity about him as the tossed ideas back and forth, standing less than a foot apart. She could feel the heat coming off him and focused very VERY hard so stay in the conversation.
Soon afterwards they closed the case and Sara was on the road again heading back to the seminar. (Which explains why she wasn't in the next episode.) She tried to forget about it but her mind kept flitting back to those 6 seconds, where she was jealous of the skin on Judy's hand.
The End
OK- Sorry if you were expecting something to happen but I didn't Think I could make a story out of that. You don't have to review it- I know it's crappy but I had to get it out of my stupid brain. You may now return to real fan fiction! :runs and hides under bed:
OH- 2 things tho- you don't have to review but if anyone can help me out here I have 2 questions:
1-What was with the nail polish on only 1 of Sara's fingers during 'Committed'?
2-I missed 'Iced' ( NOOOO) and 'Weeping Willows'- Any idea when they are going to be on again?
