I miss you spoke his brain. A gentle breeze blew in off the lake to caress his body. The temperature of the day had finally dropped to something more bearable. From the midsection of the tree he could see out for miles, across the lake that sat before him and down below to the small campfire. He could sense the people who lay below, but only one interested him. Her.

The girl he had grown to love. I can't touch her. His thoughts reminded him of the deadly promise he had made with Kikyo. That he would go to hell with her. The wind caught his hair again and blew it around him. Below he heard a gentle stirring and his name gently called.

He slipped soundlessly from the tall tree and landed just and quietly on the ground below. No one noticed his movement, not even the one who called his name. He knelt before her sleeping bag and watched her for a moment. His body ached to hold her, to touch her, to kiss her.

How long have I wanted to do this? How long have I ignored my feelings for her? It would be so easy to just take her away and kissed her and love her. He reached out a gentle hand to brush her soft silky black hair off of the peaceful soft face. Her soft pink lips mumbled something and he was drawn to them. The night was so intoxicating and his body ached for contact, for love. He couldn't control himself, he knew what would happen but right now he didn't, he couldn't care.

He cupped her cheek gently and leaned forward. Her scent him light headed and his blood run thin in his veins. He felt as if time was slowing down, that he couldn't make his body move faster. Finally, after an eternity of his body in motion he felt her lips brush his. He closed his eyes and kissed her for a moment. Absorbing the feeling, the taste of her lips, remembering it forever. He pulled back o find her eyes open halfway, looking at him intently.

"Inuyasha…" she whispered, her voice confused and passionate. She licked her lips and she eyes slow went wider and wider. She sat up and looked at him. Inuyasha's heart quickened. Shi nostrils flared and his flesh ticked him. Quicker then last time he moved to her again. He wanted to kiss her again, he need too. Like he needed air to live, he needed to kiss her again.

He leaned forward and cupped her cheek again, slipping his other hand behind her, he pulled her closer. He brought his face and lips within an inch of hers, and stopped. He used his nose and gently nuzzled hers, also brushing his lips against hers. Her breathing quickened and he felt her body relax, suddenly she was kissing him. Their lips parted and their kiss deepened.

Moments after it began it ended, but those moments would last forever in their minds. Inuyasha pulled Kagome into his lap and absentmindedly ran his fingers through her hair. She cuddled into his lap and tucked her head under his chin, before falling asleep again. Inuyasha sighed.

Tomorrow the world would change, everything would be different. He could never go back to before; he could not choose Kikyo now. Wrapping his arms tightly around Kagome he thought, I could never have gone back to Kikyo, not after Kagome.
