Lay of Morpheus

Disclaimer: I do not own the Sandmanor any of the other works ofNeil Gaiman. I have a great deal of respect for him and his work. I hope you don't think this is too bad. I felt I had to write this. If you like, go ahead and review. It doesn't matter to me either way.

I am Morpheus, God of dreams. However, you may better know me as the Sandman. I am everything, yet I am nothing. I exist, yet I do not exist. I live in the twilight realm between the sleeping and waking worlds. I am all that is real, yet I am no more than an illusion. I do not matter, yet I am all there is. I know everything, yet I know nothing. My domain is the subconscious of all humanity. I know your greatest wishes, your darkest desires, and your deepest fears. Everything that lies dormant within the furthest corners of your soul, and fathomless chambers of the heart and the vastest recesses of the human mind are my kingdom. When you slumber I have the power to bring to the surface your most profound hopes and your worst fears. I can bring to life long forgotten memories and whispers of the past. I can awaken your most terrible demons and I can offer you peace from your torment. When you sleep, you are at my mercy. I am eternal, yet at the same time ephemeral. I am Morpheus.

This was a short piece and sort of a tribute to Neil Gaiman, one of the greatest authors of all time. He rocks. I love his work.
