"What do you mean?" Hiryu questioned of the Guardian who stood before him. "What I mean Hiryu-sama, is that nothing is safe anymore..the Digital World is going to dissapear.." Rikku hung her head low, as she closed her eyes, her long raven black hair falling over her face and hiding her eyes. Her school uniform clung to her thin frame, her arms hung loosely at her sides. Hiryu just stared at his Guardian, their Guardian, yet to him she mattered more than anyone else he knew. "Rikku-chan..its alright, no matter what happens, I will keep you, and the one inside you safe." He stepped up to the Guardian and pulled her into his arms. He held her close, Rikku's eyes went wide as she lifted her head and gazed into Hiryu's eyes. "Hiryu-sama..thank you, for everything." She wrapped her arms around his waist and held onto him.
The sky began to darken as Hiryu and Rikku stood in the middle of the Citadel's courtyard. Nobody was around, it was just the two of them, alone like they always planned it out to be. Hiryu slowly pulled back from Rikku, yet he kept his arms around her waist. "Rikku-chan..we should really get ready for the next battle, though I know nothing good can come of it, we should still prepare ourselves." He looked so serious, and the tone of his voice was serious, it scared her to think that he could be so serious. The upcoming battle scared her as well, if Hiryu died, than she would be alone, she and her unborn child would be alone. She didn't want anyone to die in this battle, but she knew there would be casualties.
It was morning now, Hiryu was wide awake, out on the courtyard, cigarette in his hand. He was just staring out over the vast Digital World, thinking about everything Rikku had told him the night before. Rikku meanwhile had just been waking up, she blinked, how did she get in Hiryu's room? Wasn't she on the couch last night? She blinked and stood from the bed, she was wearing one of his shirts, but why? She shook her head and dressed in her school uniform. She made her way from Hiryu's room and to the courtyard, she smiled faintly as she saw Hiryu's figure, smoking as usual. She walked up next to him and leaned against the balcony of the courtyard. "Hiryu..I'm scared, I don't want anyone to die.." she whispered softly.
Hiryu shook his head as he put out his cigarette and threw the butt in the ashtray. He turned and pulled Rikku close. "You don't need to be scared Rikku-chan..just take care not to get too involved in the battle, alright?" He smiled, something that he rarely did, unless it was to Kira, or to her. She smiled and hugged him tightly "Alright Hiryu I'll try not to, but you better be careful as well. I don't want to lose you.." She smiled and lifted her head level with his, she leaned up and pressed her lips to his softly, her eyes falling closed slowly. He slowly closed his eyes, as he returned the kiss, his arms tightening around Rikku's waist.
