Wow, I'm so glad you all liked my poem! I don't think this one is as good though.
This is a parody to Sonny's dream by Ron Hynes. It might be hard to understand the rhythm it you don't know the tune, sorry. HP has proved older people can enjoy "children's books", this proves fourteen-year-olds can enjoy country songs written in 1976!
It's from Sirius' point of view, written just after Harry returned to Hogwarts because Christmas was over. Just to clarify, I know Sirius has his mother, Buckbeak and Kreature, but they aren't living people so I'm not counting them (when I say he's alone).
Padfoot's Dream
Chorus:
Harry don't go away
I am here all alone
And your god dad's a fighter
Who's stuck in his home
And the nights get so long
And the loneliness goes on
And I'm feeling so tired
I thought I was strong
I must stay in this house
It is too small a space
How I long for a struggle
For a fight, for a race
But these are just dreams
Cause it's starting to seem
That there's nothing but Kreature
And my mother's screams
Chorus
Harry carries the load
Of his destiny
And he's unfairly stuck
With the old prophecy
But he does not know it
So he's safe from the fears
And he goes on just the same
As he has for years and years and years
Chorus
The weapon's with the prophecies
Harry's never been there
But he thinks that it's him
And I can tell he's scared
And it's tearing him up
He's so involved in the war
And he still dreams his dreams
Of the Ministry door
I know I am in danger
But it is so unfair
I know the headmaster
Does it because he cares
But I'm hungry inside
For the wide world outside
And I know I can't get out
Though I've tried and I've tried and I've tried.
Chorus
