"I had expected a lake of fire."
"Yes, yes," Enrico Maxwell wearily replied to the Knight of Malta, "we all did."
"Oh, look," a member of the Sacred Military Order of Saint Stephen of Tuscany commented dryly, "another ten."
The archbishop glanced behind him, where ten more soldiers of the Ninth Crusade were taking their places in line.
"This place is just like Disney," declared one of the Courtland Brethren of the Sword.
Maxwell raised an incredulous eyebrow, "excuse me?"
"You've been to a Disney park, right?"
"No."
"Really? Well, the queues are enormous," the brother explained. "Sometimes it takes over an hour to get on a ride."
"Oh God, that sounds horrible," moaned a member of the Order of Calatrava. "Archbishop Maxwell, you don't think we'll be waiting for an hour, do you?"
"Though I fail to understand your eagerness to reach the front, I don't think we will, no," Enrico answered, cutting off the man's exhale of relief as he continued, "I suspect we'll be in line far longer. This is Hell, after all."
A/N: Well, where else would they go after their attack on London?
And if you've ever been in line at Disney World during a Florida summer, the comparsion is understandable, really.
