"Boulevard of Broken Dreams"

Roy is sitting in his office. The only
sounds are the ticking of the clock
and the faint scratching of his pen.

I walk a lonely,
the only one that I have ever known.
Don't know were it goes,
but it's home to me, and I walk alone.

He is shuffling through files trying to
finish his paper work. The clock reads
2:26 a.m. He lets out a silent yawn
and returns to his work.

I walk this empty street.
On the BLVD. of Broken Dreams.
Where the city sleeps,
and I'm the only one and, I walk alone.

klank The picture on the edge of his desk
falls over . He picks it up.

I walk alone, I walk alone.

The Picture in front of him is of
him and Hughs. He sighs and puts the
picture back on the edge of his desk.

I walk alone, I walk alone.
My shadows the only one that walks beside me.
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating.
Sometimes I wish someone out there would find me.
'til then I walk alone.

His thoughts begin to wonder. 'How
is it that I come to this? How
did I let this happen? How could I
just sit here and let it happen?'

I'm walking down the lines,
that divide me somewhere in my mind,
on the boarder line of the edge,
and where I walk alone.

Roy leans back in his chair with a
hand on his head. It feels slightly
warm but not feverishly so. 'And
what about Edward?'

Read between the lines,
what's fucked up and everything's alright.
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive,
And I walk alone.

'Hughes is gone. I can't preoccupy
myself with that. I have work to do...but
is Hughes what's preoccupying me?'

I walk alone, I walk alone.

There's a shallow knock that pulls
Roy back to reality.
"Come in." He says in that sarcastic
Colonel voice of his.

I walk alone, I walk alone.
My shadows the only one that walks beside me.
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating.
Sometimes I wish someone out there would find me.
'til then I walk alone.

Edward walks in with a coffee mug in his hand.
"I thought that you could use something
seeing has you already look about ready to pass out."

I walk this empty street.
On the BLVD. of Broken Dreams.
Where the city sleeps,
and I'm the only one and, I walk alone.

"Thank you, Full Metal, you may leave." He says
in his don't-bother-me tone.

My shadows the only one that walks beside me.
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating.

Ed sighs and walks over to Roy's desk.
He sits the mug down and walks around
the desk until he is right next to Roy.
"Yes, Full Metal." He says without looking
up.

Sometimes I wish someone out there would find me.
'til then I walk alone.

"I'm not leaving." is the only answer that reaches
Roy's ears.
