As he stood at the ticket machine waiting for it to produce the ticket he had just paid for, he glanced down at his watch. He was early. His train wasn't due at the plateform for another twenty minutes. The ticket machine suddenly made a clicking sound and a ticket slide out of the slot. He grabbed it and ran for the turn stiles. It was oddly busy for 11pm on a monday night, and he had to wait in a long line of people to get in. While in line, he continualy glanced over his shoulder, bit his nails nervously and checked his watch at least one hundred times. He still had ten minutes before his train was scheduled to come, when he finally slide through the turnstiles, and started towards his usual Hazel Street platform.
There were only three people besides himself waiting at the Hazel street platform. A young girl dressed totally in black, with piercings on every visable part of her body stood at the edge of the platform dancing to the music that overflowed out of her headphones. There was an old woman sitting on a bench, who kept looking up from her knitting to shake her head at the gothic girl, and another man leaned against one of the pillars smoking a cigarette and talking on his cell phone. He walked up beside the girl, a briefcase clutched tightly in his hands, and lean forward to look up and down the track for any signs of a train.
He glanced down at his watch again, it was nearly 11pm, and he still had five more minutes, but to him it felt like five hours. He had to get off this platform and soon. He had to leave here before the monsters from outside found there way into the subway and starting killing people just like at the office. It started out as just an innocent coffee break with his long time girlfriend, Sharon, but then the monsters came. They killed Sharon, and they tried to kill him, but he got out. He wasn't sure what happened to the others in the building, for some odd reason he was the only one who could see the monsters.
When he came running out of the breakroom screaming that Sharon was dead and that monsters were invading everyone just looked at him like he'd gone mad. "well screw them." he thought, "They're probably all dead, and I'm not, I was the only smart one." He leaned forward again and look up and down the track for the train.
Sunddenly he saw her, standing on the platform across from his. She was beckoning him to come to her. "Dennis...Dennis come to me.." She called in a whispy almost ghostly voice.
"Sh..sharon?" He asked out loud. The girl in black, who had just been switching cds, turned to him.
"Excuse me, my names Beth, not Sharon." She looked at him oddly, "are you ok sir?"
"I..uh..yes..I was just thinking out loud..sorry." He told the girl and then turned his attention back to the opposite plateform. Sharon was still standing there in that beautiful white dress. He smiled, and once again she called to him, "Dennis please, come to me, help me Dennis...". He looked behind him, and saw only the old woman and the man on his cell phone, but no monsters.
When he turned back to where Sharon was standing, he saw the monsters invading the platform behind her. She started screaming, but when he look around again no one seem to notice. "DENNIS!" She screamed, "HELP ME!" The monsters were going after her. He had to save her. He dropped his briefcase and jumped off the plateform.
