It was the first game of the NBA championship. It was between the Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers. Two of the greatest rookies in NBA history were going to be facing off- Nathan Scott and Lucas Scott. They were brothers and best friends. Sure, they'd played against eachother in the past, but never in the finals and never with the stakes so high.

"Ready to lose lil bro?" Lucas said to Nathan with a smile as they warmed up on the court

"Yeah, right Luke. Who's team has the best record in the NBA?"

"So who's being called the new Larry Bird?" Lucas said after sinking a three pointer

"That's just because you're blond, skinny, and on the Celtics." Nathan said just before going up to shoot a lay up

They continued warming up and then they went back to their locker rooms. In what seemed like just a minute it was game time

"Ladies and Gentlemen," the announcer said "Please welcome to Boston, the LA Lakers." The starting lineup is Kobe Bryant, Jack Johnson, Bill Williams, Kyle George, and the NBA's rookie of the year Nathan Scott."

The crowd had a combination of boos and cheers for the visiting team

"And now your very own, Boston Celtics!." Paul Pierce, Walter Mccarty, Bobby Roberson, and the NBA's MVP Lucas Scott!" The crowed screamed for their home team. "And now please stand for the national anthem, which, will be sung by recording artist Haley Keller." The singer walked out. Nathan looked at her in shock. It was Haley. The Haley James he fell in love with. The Haley Scott that was his wife. The Haley he hadn't seen in over 5 years. She began to sing. Nathan looked at her not knowing what to do.He could feel sweat dripping down his forehead, his hands shook, and his vision became blurry. All of a sudden he passed out on the floor. Lucas ran across the court to Nathan. Haley stood by her mic and the crowd went silent.

"Haley, what the hell are you doing here?" Lucas called out, completely confused.

"Haley?" Nathan called out

"Yeah, its me." Haley said, who seemed to be in shock as well

"Why?" Nathan asked. It was a question that had so many meanings. Why did she leave? Why was she here now? Why was her last name Keller?

"Relax, Nathan" The team doctor said "You need to go to a hospiatal and get some tests done."

"But" Nathan said trying to protest

"You past out and hit your head., you need to be safe."

"I'm going with him." Lucas said

"No, Luke. You have to play" Nathan said

At the hospital, Nathan was lying in bed, watching the game on TV. The doctor came in

"Eveyhting seems to be all right, Mr. Scott. It was probably just nerves."

"Yea, Nerves." Nathan said with no emotion

"You'll be able to play tomorrow. Good Luck."

"Thanks."

He continued to watch the game. There was 5 seconds left and the Celtics were down by one. Lucas had the ball. "Scoot for the game." The announcer called out. The ball went in. Luke hit the winning shot. Nathan had a slight smile on his face. "Good job bro."

After the game Nathan tried to avoid the reporters and to find Haley.

" Lucas." Haley said coming towards him and hugging him. "Ive missed you."

"Me, too. Where have you been, Haley?"

"It's a long story."

"Ive got lots of time."

"Ok, Luke here it goes…"
