Two Wrongs CAN Make A Right
"Lily! In here!"

I looked to my left where the Three Broomsticks sat. My friends, along with James' sat at one large table. I opened the door and walked inside towards them, sitting in between Remus and John.

"Why aren't you with James?" asked Dorcas.

I rolled my eyes. "Everything is his decision."

"What are you going on about?" Sirius asked; on Dorcas' left, so they obviously had made up.

I sighed, preparing myself to explain the conversation James and I just had. "He said that he wanted to control the relationship. He gets to decide when we get married, when I get pregnant, what he wants me to do with my life! He wants everything to be in his power!"

Sirius, Remus and Peter exchanged glances. "That sounds... exactly like James. Lil, you've got to understand that that is who James is—"

"The James you fell in love with," Remus added hastily.

"The James I fell in love with wasn't as controlling as he is now!" I looked around the table. "I know James and I can be stubborn okay. But we're in this relationship together. You should have heard him out there! He said that he gets me pregnant—"

"—Well he does—"

"And then when he wants more kids I have to comply—or else he'll make me."

Everyone went silent and John dropped his butterbeer with a cluck. They looked around awkwardly before Sirius cleared his throat. I crossed my arms, preparing to hear what he had to say. I would take it to mind; I would listen even if it killed me.

"Lily... I can't talk for James. But I can tell you that I believe that he didn't mean it like it came out. He wants to be with you so much that he's probably looking for you right now, waiting to apologize."

"Look... I pressured him into shagging last night—"

John spit out his newly ordered butterbeer and Remus looked alarmed. "Pushed him? He didn't want to and you seduced him?"

"I was mad... and upset about what happened yesterday and how I blew up on you guys."

"Wow... you guys use each other way too much—"Everyone stared at Dorcas, to which she shrugged and added. "Well, it's true."

"I know it is.... But I'm on James' side here! He shouldn't want to control me. He should love me and we should decide together half the lot that he muttered about at least—"

Amelia nodded from the other side of John. "You two should talk. I mean, no kissing, no touching, just talk—"

"I just had a bloody fight with him... I don't want to talk anymore. I think I'll head back towards Hogwarts. See you—"

"Want us to come?" asked Dorcas as she sat up out of Sirius arms; Amelia followed.

"No... no... I don't... I'll head up to my dorm and go to sleep I guess."

Dorcas lounged back in Sirius' arms and Amelia returned to her seat as I walked towards the door, receiving small goodbyes and comments of reassurance as I left. Right as I walked out of the door, I bumped into someone.

"Sorry," they said in a hoarse voice.

"No prob—James?" I stuttered as I looked up at him.

"Let me help you up," he said offering me a hand.

"I'm quite fine... thank you," I said, standing up and brushing my jeans off.

"I was looking for you."

"I wasn't looking for you," I replied, walking past him. He grabbed my hand to stop me. It was like this was already planned out. Like we were in a part of two characters. Meant to fight at particular times. Like someone had pre-written our fate. Cliché. My eyes met hazel eyes. He looked away like he was blinded by my emerald ones.

"I'm sorry about earlier," he said, running and I had through his hair; or trying to, I cut him off and grabbed his hand in mine, which made his gaze return.

I didn't say anything, but instead looked away until I felt him sigh in annoyance.

"Figures—this completely makes all the bloody sense in the world. We're just going to fight again, Lil. Why don't we find something else to talk about before we got to my father's funeral?"

I stared at him, but he looked away.

"I don't want to fight, either. But James... you were way out of line."

"You weren't any better—"

"I know I was stupid to have done what I did last night, okay? But I'm just a stupid girl—"

"No, you're not stupid, Lily. You're the smartest girl I know."

I bit my bottom lip; truly deciding if it was a good idea to make the statement I was about to make. "You threatened me."

He looked down, lost for words. "I—"

"You did... you told me that if you wanted to have kids—and I didn't—that you would make me. Do you know how serious that is? How offended by that I became. I could break up with you right now—"

James held his breath. I gave a small smile.

"But I'm too smitten with you, love. Just... please think before you talk to me James. Understand that I... I love you but I don't want to get hurt—"

"I'd never hurt you... not on purpose—"

"You can hurt a girl physically and emotionally in so many ways James. Ways you can't even imagine. Do you know what runs through a girls head when she won't comply and she is made? Can you imagine what we picture with our significant other wants something and we are made to give it? Can you imagine how scared of you I'd be—"

"Lily... I didn't mean like that. I was just mad because you made me comply last night—"

"I know neither are good, don't get me wrong. But yours is worse—"

"If you look at it like that—"

"The only way you can look at it is abuse..."

He looked at me flabbergasted. "Lily I would never hurt you because of that. I respect that you don't want to. I was stupid... I didn't meant it... What I said earlier today was stupid—please forgive me. I don't want anything... I'd never hit you—"

Tears were running freely down his face and I leaned up pulling him into a hug. "I'll think next time—I'm sorry, so sorry—I love you—"

I took his hand in mine and pulled him towards Hogwarts.

"So I take it you want kids, then?" I asked laughing lightly.

"I want a son—and I want to name him Harry," James prompted like the last situation never happened.

I smiled as he wrapped his arm around my hips. I wrapped my arm around his hip and pulled him over towards the Great Hall's main stair case. Running up the stairs comfortably we silently made our way up towards the Head's common room. His kissed me lightly as we got there.

"Was I really that awful?" he asked against my lips.

"Some... not all," I replied.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry," he muttered.

Quietly we sat on the couch, me sitting comfortably in his arms. Every few minutes he would tell me he was sorry. I stared at a spot on the wall; happy to be in his presence and not be upset.

I stood up. "We've been dating for five months—what do you want to do?"

He shrugged, "What do you want to do?"

"Not spend the day sitting with you; that gets boring."

James sat up smiling. "Thanks, love."

"We should go do something."

"Like what?" he asked standing up.

I took James' hand. "Let's go be optimistic..."

He laughed as I pulled them down the stairs. When we reached a corridor we heard a couple of voices talking.

"We attack the Mudbloods house—with or without the Dark Lord—tonight," one of them said.

"Shall we kill them?" asked a voice uncertainly.

"Get real, Snape. You wanted revenge!"

"Maybe we could put them under the Imperious curse," he suggested.

"Forget it, Snape. We're going tonight. Malfoy'll come—Lestranges maybe—Nott and McNair are waiting—Face it, the Muggle Evans are as good as dead."

James pulled for me to leave... but I couldn't move... all those people. They were waiting to attack my father and mother. I... I have to move. But my body wouldn't move. I felt James pick me up and quickly carry me down the stairs. When we reached the office we found McGonagall who told us that Dumbledore was out in London. And he wouldn't be returning for a week.

James grabbed my hand pulling me towards the grounds.

"If Dumbledore can't help us, we'll do this ourselves—"

"James!"

"Lily," he said, pulling me faster, and I ran up to catch him. "Let's go!"

"It's hopeless—"I said, tears falling down my face.

But he looked determined. "We're going to Apparate to your house from Hogsmeade. We'll get your parents to some place those scumbags would never look—"

"Where?" I sobbed, as we reached Hogsmeade.

"Sirius' old house—if not there—than Remus' place. Let's get the guys."

Fortunately the guys were walking towards us from the ground. James pulled Sirius and Remus aside. Peter looked like he wanted to join, but thought otherwise as John started talking to him. James held me tightly as he spoke to Sirius and Remus; I caught not a word of what he said.

"Let's go."

We all at once, Apparated to my home, where my parents were enjoying a pot of tea.
A/N: That's short, I know. But it's all I've got energy for. Next chapter should be eventful, I hope. Again, graduation will be soon. Thanks for the reviews!
