The Demon Fever

Chapter One

"Oh, my shoulders really hurt," groaned Kagome, walking next to Sango. The demon exterminator turned to her, a slight grimace on her face.

"I know, my neck feels like a board."

It had been another tiring day looking for the jewel shards, and they had found nothing but a fight with a few snake demons, none of which had the shards of jewel.

"I hope the next place we stop has a hot spring!" Kagome said, looking down at her feet. This only made her think about how sore her feet were, and she quickly looked over to the trees around her.

"It's getting dark," Miroku's voice bounced off the trees in the silent night. "Let's stop here for tonight." Miorku glanced at the darkening sky, and smiled at the two females ahead of him.

"I have never been so thankful to you, Monk," sighed Sango, gratefully sitting down next to his feet. Kagome fell backward onto the soft grass behind her, closing her eyes. She opened them several seconds later, only to see a pair of honey colored eyes looking down at her.

"Aha..." she half laughed.

"There's a hot spring down to the left about fifty feet," scowled Inuyasha. Kagome sat up, and smiled at the half demon. It was at this moment, Kagome noticed Inuyasha had a kind of dazed look on his face. The sort of look people get when they're delirious with fever...or something.

"Um...Inuyasha? Are you okay?" The half demon flushed, and turned around. "Yeah, of course I'm okay. I'm fine. The hotspring will be dangerous if you don't go right now."

Kagome scrambled to her feet when she heard this, ignoring the pain the pressure brought her feet, and grabbed her pack calling Snago. "C'mon Sango! Inuyasha said he found us a hot spring!"

"Hey, Sango?"

"Yeah, Kagome?"

"Did you notice...uh...anything different about Inuyasha?"

"Different? Like what?"

"Well...he looked at me weird...like he had a fever, or some-"

SPLASH!

Kagome opened her eyes and sat up from her position against the rocks to look at Sango's expression. She looked a bit concerned, and a tad bit scared, but mixed into that was an excitment.

"A...fever...you say?"

Kagome nodded. What was Sango on about?

"Oh no..."

"What?"

Sango looked over at her, eyes wide, biting her bottom lip. "Do you know what month it is, by per chance?" Kagome gave the other girl an odd look, and replied, "Um...it's May. Why?"

Sango groaned again. "Oh no...Kagome, you're in danger." Kagome's body jerked up, muscles tense with anticipation. "Of who? What?" she asked, and Sango stepped out of the hotspring, grabbing a towel to dry off.

Finally, Sango turned to Kagome, and said, "Of Inuyasha"

Okay, so yes, that was very short. But it's only the first chapter, I promise that my other chapters are going to be much longer than this. I always type very long chapters, and I'll just stop rambling now! Okay! On to chapter two!

Oh, and Review!
