Because Michael had to have seen Natalie at the hospital the night they brought in Viki...A Bon Vov inspired moment...

Jersey Lullaby

Left the world outside.

Michael watched her as she slept.

Sitting up in a sea green chair with her head against the wall behind her, her arms wrapped tightly around her, as if she was trying to pull herself out of this reality and into something better, purer.

And Michael wished she could. It wasn't fair. A song sung to the broken hearted.

He wished he could fix her world, to put her back together.

There were no tears, just imagined lines where they should have been, if she had been strong enough. If she hadn't been taught to bury weakness, if she had known tears were a sign of strength.

But Michael could see them, those bans of sadness that flowed down the inside. He could see how she was holding on by a thread. Living on a prayer.

Maybe that's what she was- another Jersey lullaby.

Maybe that's why she could sleep with the hustle and bustle, just background music to her weary mind. Just an escape. Locked the doors and left the world outside- closed her eyes and blocked it out.

And Michael cared but it was too late.

Just one more Jersey lullaby. Another tragic tune waiting to be sung.

Halfway there.

And he walked away, letting her sleep. And he wondered if John knew.

She was just another Jersey lullaby.
