This is a songficabout Ed and Al when they tried bringing their mother back. The song is called "Brothers" and was written for the series, and is heard in the background at the end of the "Mother" episode. Though you can't understand or hear it that well because it is in Russian...
"Al, I'm sorry… I'm sorry for everything," Ed said, on his knees near the alchemy circle. "It wasn't supposed to be like this," he said, tears streaming down his face. He held his leg in pain as he looked over at the mass that was supposed to be their mother. Its breathing was ragged and shallow, and it moved ever so slightly.
Ed quickly drew another alchemy circle inside a suit of armor, and used his leg as exchange for his brother's soul. A bright light enveloped him and the suit.
Forgive me, younger brother
I am to be blamed
It is impossible to return
that, which has been taken by earth
One that knows the law
would help me find the answer.
I made a terrible mistake,
there is no cure for death.
Dear Mother! So Soft!
We loved you so much.
But all our powers
were spent in vain.
I intrigued you
With the perfect hope
To return our family
My brother, the blame is all mine.
Al looked out through the hollow eyes. "What..? Where am I?" He asked, sitting up. Looking closer Al suddenly saw Ed. "Brother! What happened to you? What happened to me..?" Al asked, as he cradled his older brother in his armor arms.
"It wasn't enough….Our blood wasn't enough….We didn't bring her back," Ed said through raspy breathing. Al raised his head to look at where the chemicals were. "Don't look Al…It's not human," Ed winced in pain. Al's eyes widened in the hollow helmet as he saw what should have been their mother.
Don't cry, don't despair, older brother
You are not the only one to blame
We both have one road
Lets bury the blame to the depth
I can't blame you for anything,
And I hold no hard feelings.
Heavy is our cause
The desire to be stronger than all
Dear Mother! So Soft!
We loved you so much.
But all our powers
were spent in vain.
I was intrigued myself
with the wonderful hope
to return our family.
I am the one to blame.
So what do we do now?
How do we correct and forget?
When you can't return
That, which was been taken by earth.
Please Read and Review! This was written with the song in mind. Flames are greatly appreciated! If you hadn't figured it out... the first few versus were pretty much would be sung by Ed, and then the next three were sung by Al... And finally the last ones were sung by Ed again I believe, though I'll have to listen to it again just to be sure...
