Fly

She felt the air rushing like never before through her hair and clothes. The ribbons fluttered around her, spiraling like the wind, a small wonder considering that was the flow they followed. The small twin bells on her gracefully long sleeves tinkled gently, the little clappers within clanging onto the insides of the bells with any slight movement. Raven black hair whipped around her face as she beheld the Sky in all it's azure wonder, drawing away and away and away.

She hugged herself in the atmosphere, falling, falling, alone. A solitary tear plummeting towards the hard, cold pavement, so cruelly obscuring the welcoming earth. Sound escaped, nothing but the quiet, gentle whistle of the air reaching her ears, as her descent continued. Time seemed like nothing, like an instant, like forever, its passage marked only by how dulled the pain became and how far yet close the blue heavens were perceived to be. Such peace, such tranquility in serene release.

She blinked slowly, not wanting to renounce the beauty of this world in all its cold and edged colors of soothing hues, yet so tired and so welcomed by the dark shelter of her closed eyes. Her legs were seen, splayed at an elegant angle. It didn't matter in this space, where no foreign surface could dictate pose.

As the empyrean drew ever farther, and the surface ever closer, sweet calm came in all its crystalline grace to wash over all that hurt and grieved. The freshest breath ever taken, and a burst of cool blue light. She soared up into the ether even as she once fell from the heights.

Meiling, who had no magic and no one to return her devoted love had at last found the power of flight.

A/N: Plz review!

Rumpleteasza: thank you so much for reviewing my other fic. :) You are the only one that did- am I doing something wrong? I love Meiling/Syaoran too. . I totally agree. I really wish more ppl would write Meiling/Syaoran. I mean, unrequited love is such good material! I shouldn't be talking though since I've yet to write and post something of the sort. -sweatdrop-
