Author's Note: Warning: very depressing and kinda creepy poem ahead. Read at your own risk.
P.S. I got the idea from Insanity 101, so Dusty, if you're reading this, hope you don't mind. Can you guess in which one of my stories this is based on? It's kinda hard, but see yourself try!
Death.
Such a beautiful word.
Redemption from the pain.
An escape from this nightmare.
An end to this miserable life.
Liberation from the torment.
Freedom from the harsh world.
A lightless path of shadow and doubt.
What is your choice?
Live or die, fire or ice?
Do you really wish to fall?
Smile in anticipation.
Welcome it with open arms.
It is no warm embrace.
Inhale the cold and shiver.
Like lightning down your spine.
But blindness takes you here.
Nothing you desire more.
It's finally coming in.
A desire stronger than steel.
A longing so intense your heart will break.
No better thing than oblivion.
No comfort better than loss.
A final dream for your sanity.
Heavy footsteps tread the walkway.
Doom had never sounded better.
The scythe shall glow.
Burning like the stars of hell.
Do you want this?
The heat of life so far away.
Is this what you've been searching for?
You want to move.
Halted in fluid motion.
Nothing you can do.
Your body is a prison.
Poisoned with fear.
Indignant with icy terror.
You wish to take it back.
There is yet hope for that faraway life.
Of what you once called bitter.
But the deed is done.
Your sun sets with a silent scream.
Your eyes will never rest upon another day.
Now seek the blood-stained sky.
Accept your fate.
Close your eyes and wait.
The kiss of the blade on your skin.
Your tears will turn to smoke.
Your breath stops in your throat.
A cry shall break the blaze.
An agony that meets the air.
It rattles to the earth.
A hiss before it dies.
Now bleed without concern.
It will all be over soon.
