Note: Envy refers to himself as an 'it' do to the fact that he gives the illusion he doesn't really know, and that he's just gender confused, much like Belial from Angel Sanctuary who refers to his/herself as 'one' Envy, though, goes for 'it'

Title: Age over Innocence
Summary: Envy musing on the effects of time on personality only to be met with the age old of innocence. (No pairing, disturbing)
Age had a lot to do with a person's, or things, personality. When young the world is full of wondrous things. Worthy things. Life had meaning, or close to a meaning.
Children didn't know they knew, but they held the secret to life itself… innocence.
It figured that's why it hated the little brat. Though demonic as the rest, he still held that tone. That innocent tone.
He could feel true fear, true hate, true love. Just cause he was a child that couldn't grow up.
The monster smiled. It wanted to see the brat breech 100 years and see if he could still hold that out-look. It doubted it, of course. Who'd expect someone or something to be able to survive for that long, in a child's form no less.
It shifted itself, unwinding long lanky legs, only to re-twist them, its cold purple eyes observed delicate children playing. It could just see the brat wishing to join in, but resist for That Person would not hear of it.
It snorted at the thought. They call followed That Person's requests without thinking about how selfish That Person is. That Person didn't bat an eye then over them, and she wouldn't now.
The monster resisted the unexpected subtle desire to leap up and join with the younglings for a romp.
Bemusedly, it chided itself of the fact that age was all placed him above the others. It had bee entirely too long, 400 and counting.
It wondered, vaguely if its bitterness was a result of its age. Death, destruction, fear, love, sadness, longing for any of these phased it anymore. It almost could feel itself wishing it did. Maybe make existence worth a little more than seeking the death of one who gave you like, twice.
"Heh… gave…"
The feeling of eyes made the monster look up. Eye contact with bright gray innocent curiosity.
It grinned a grin, bearing shark like teeth. A warning to the young girl with large eyes and disgustingly blonde pigtails of the evil lurking on the bench.
But she just stared.
It felt sick.
She then smiled brightly, like sunshine.
It cursed stupid children.
It noted the way the pigtails held large blue bows with matching dress to boot. She held a red ball between two tiny white hands. She couldn't be more than what, four? Five?
It snarled at her then stood, taking its leave of the child-watching-induced-musing, but the tiny sound of footsteps following it made it look back at the young sprite. Feeling agitated by her innocent curiosity, it made a motion for the girl to leave it.
But she just looked up at it, then held out the ball in an offering, exclaiming happily, "Ball!"
"Yes, ball. Leave squirt before you go bye-bye," it felt sick agai with giving the child a warning. Totally not its style at all.
She dropped the ball and reached up for it, asking to be picked up.
The devilish smirk that formed on its features could only be described as… nasty.
(- - -)
The sound of crunching bones and gored flesh was still audible, settling the growing disdain brewing in its empty hole of a heart, as the Great Beast devoured the remains.
The screams were still fresh in the air, adding electricity, making its hair and skin crawl uncontrollably.
The noise slowly dissipated, The Monster looked towards the Beast, who only giggled and smiled at it fondly.
"Bleck, whip your mouth Gluttony."
