I walk through the lonesome cemetary. It's a dark night, no moon or stars out to give off their romantic radiance. The wind and leaves flow together, singing their sweet song.

A girl screams.

"Here we go again,"

I run off toward and old crypt, blood rushing to my head, adrenaline pumping through my veins.

Its another typical night.

There are two vampires. I stake one while his back is turned. No problem. The other one is a different story.

He rushes at me, I trip him. He growls at me, a deep throaty growl. Like an angry dog. I laugh at him, this just makes him madder I interrupted his meal.

He lunges toward me, this time he jumps behind me. This takes me by surprise and I take a moment to recover, a moment I don't have to lose. One moment could decide between life or death for me and this young girl. His fist make contact with my lower back. An earsplitting crunch later, I'm on the dirty ground. I force myself up, I've been hurt worse.

I punch him in the nose. Hard. While he's off balance, I deliver a set of well placed punches. He's on the ground. I dust him.

The young girl was watching the whole time in a mixture of horror and fascination.

"Who are you?" She asks me.

For a moment I don't know how to respond.

"Just a girl," I answer her.

That wasn't who I was though, I was Alliyah the Vampire Slayer. And I was alone.
