Author's note: I do not own Seto. I do own Pernia though. Also it points to a future chapter in a not quite started epic story that is being writen

Pernia never expected to fall in love with a man like Seto; someone who has done things, said things, and promised things that she could only imagine in her darkest nightmares – and even then only lurking in the darkest of corners. But she does love him. That is why despite all he has done to her: the hurtful words – both those he meant to say and those he didn't mean to say -, the use of their miscarried and unborn child, and his obsession with controlling her. Which is why she is still there beneath him, her legs wrapped around his hips and her fingers gripping his hair. She loves him.

That is why when his darkness begins to consume him, she turns off the lights and embraces it. That is why on some mornings, long before the sun's rays reaches the windows to chase away the shadows, she awakens even before Seto and dresses to hide the bruises left by an angry and forceful mouth, hands, and hips. That is why Pernia lets Seto do what he wants. She doesn't want to risk his hatred building up. That is why when his darkness consumes him, she allows him to consume her. She isn't sure she wants to be his redeemer. Because she isn't sure she would love him then. She loves him for his darkness; because without it he would not be the man he had become and he would cease to be at all.

Because this is no fairy tale romance and Pernia is happy with that; she was never really that fond of them anyways. She loves Seto and -despite it all, or maybe because of it- she loves his darkness.
