Author's Note: This is me, an angst writer, trying her hand at actual fluff. Huh. I don't know so much. Oh well.

Her Happy Ending

Finding him was a chore. There were piles of demon corpses in the area. She was in, but she followed the signs of fighting. That was the only way she'd complete her mission and find him.

She raced through the alley, spotting that flash of blonde that she managed to love so much, and racing towards it. She raised the ax in her hands, slicing it downwards and cutting the last demon in half.

He raised an eyebrow at her. "Couldn't let me have it, could you?"

"No." Faith said, grinning back at him. "Besides, I might have something better for you to have."

He pulled her into a kiss, the speed of his actions making her drop the ax she held. She could stay like this fore-

There was a clearing of a throat and the two turned to look at their intruder. "That's not how the game goes."

It was a little ten year old girl with long dark brown hair and bright blues eyes, a pout on her face.

Spike rolled his eyes, taking off the virtual headset and looking at the little girl. "Maybe not, but I was just getting to the good part, before you decided to interrupt."

She twisted her face in a scowl after freeing her face from a headset of her own.

Faith did too. She smirked though. "I wasn't complaining."

Spike and Faith kissed and the girl gave a loud sigh. "Eww! Boys are icky!" she covered her eyes.

Something came over Faith as she leaned on Spike and she began laughing. She was so innocent. The only innocent thing in faith's life. She was like…like a God-send.

"Glad to hear it, Nib." Spike said, turning his attention to the young girl and yanking her out her seat.

"Daddy!" she exclaimed, her face the picture of delight as she saw the room in a whirlwind, spinning around. It was times like these that made her really love her parents.

Faith remained on the couch, watching Spike and her daughter spin in a circle. She smiled, unconsciously touching the ring on her right hand.

Eleven years ago, she'd panicked. She'd run into Spike as he made himself scarce from Wolfram and Hart. Especially after a witch out to kill him made him human for a day. So, they'd had a night, and he was a vampire again, and they went back to their separate lives. Hers was with Wood, and his was on the run.

A month later, she found out. About being pregnant. Wood made her go to the doctor after she spent a day throwing up in the bathroom. It was Spike's, not Wood's. Conceived of that night where Spike hadn't been a vampire. She knew this instinctively. It couldn't be Wood's. Not when he'd been away for more than a month. And he knew that, too.

So, she left. Put in a good word with Willow. And she found him heading to New York. It sounded like her kind of place, anyway. Somewhere it actually got cold. And she told him about Ray. At first, he denied it, avoided her. He was dangerous, and she knew that. He wasn't off the hook, and their daughter could get killed if she stayed with him. Never mind the fact that Spike was a vampire. So, determined, she put in another good word with Willow. Yeah, he was mad, until it revealed that now Wolfram and Hart couldn't find him, for some reason. He forgave her, and they decided on names. Rayven Lehane was the winner.

Parenthood was a bitch fro two people who had never had a reason to be responsible before. Not once in their entire lives. Staying away from patrol, avoiding conflicts for seven months. It all had made Faith ready to scream.

But then came that day in the hospital, when they wrote Rayven Lehane on her birth certificate…it occurred to her that it was all worth it.

She had that same feeling now as she watched the guy she'd found it in herself to love spin in a circle with the only innocent thing in their lives. Their daughter.

If this was her happy ending, she loved it.
