Title: Full Circle
Series: Samurai Champloo
Summary: No pairing. FuuxMugen, if you wish to view it as such. This is the third time 'round, and when everything comes full circle, nothing is the same as before. R&R.
Disclaimer: Not mine. I know, tragic!
When Mugen dies for the first time, he isn't ready for it at all.
He doesn't actually trust Mukuro, but there's a certain code of conduct on Ryuukyuu, and a man that claims to be loved by the place is a man that should understand such things.
So it is a shock when the ship begins to burn, and it's not because Mugen is naive or even trusting on any primal level. It's because amidst the language of blood and death, Mukuro speaks in tongues of money.
When Mugen dies for the second time, it loses its novelty pretty damn fast.
He doesn't trust Mukuro this time either - not even for a split second - but a bet is a bet, and even years in the kiddy-pool that is mainland Japan cannot purge him of the old fashioned Ryuukyuu morals.
If you owe, you pay - with blood or money. That's just how it works.
Mukuro owes him.
When Mugen dies for the third time, he's absolutely fucking tired of it.
He's is ready to go because he doesn't care enough to hang on but when he hears Fuu's voice - loud and irritating and god so magnetic - he has to wonder why she even bothers with a man like him. He sticks around because he wants to know, and when she tells him,
he isn't ready for it at all.
Fin.
