"She was TEMPTING me! Playing me!" He smashed his fists to the table," Don't you get it?" His face was beet red, strands of his brown wavy hair dropped in his face, his green eyes becoming cloudy, and his face dropping down like his was forty years older with
wrinkles.

"She was playing hard to get?" Grissom asked.

"NO! I don't know. Just something about her. You couldn't help be attracted to her," he paused. He didn't know how to describe it. "It's just her. Everything she does you can't help but envy, think she's sexy. She has this way about her. Even when you're mad at her, somehow she causes you to laugh." He looked down at his hands now that were flat on the table surface. Grissom remained silent wanting to know what caused him to kill her. She was only 18
years, had a bright future, going to college, it was a shame. "It's like...It's like...We'll be standing in a room full with people. But we don't see them or hear them; we're so in tune to the
other that they don't matter. It's just us in the room," he sighed. He really couldn't put what he exactly felt into words. He looked up into Grissom's eyes, "I loved her and I never told her."

"You were afraid? Of rejection?" The man nodded his head. "You didn't think she loved you back? Didn't think she returned your feelings? That she was just playing with you, because you were there for her when she needed it and that's all."

"Yes!"

"To lend a crying shoulder for her when she had a bad day. To lend an ear when she needed to vent," Grissom supplied the man. Gil knew this feeling way to well.

"Yes, she didn't want me, I just filled a hole until she found the right guy," he replied. Grissom took out a diary that was in an evidence bag.

"You were wrong. She really did love you, you just didn't want to see it," Grissom said. The man looked up at Grissom and then down to the notebook in the plastic bag.

"No! She didn't love me! She couldn't have!" He yelled and reached across the table for Grissom, knocking the diary to the floor. Immediately two uniformed officers came in and got to him before he could harm Gil.Catherine walked in from outside.

"Brings back memories doesn't it?" She asked looking over at Gil who was a little surprised.

"Yeah...it does," he said looking down at the diary that was now on the floor still in the plastic bag.

"Gil there's a difference you know," she replies before he stepped before he was out of the room.

"And what is that?" He stops and turns to look at her.

"There was a different ending," she smiled at him. A smile slowly spreads across his face and a small laugh comes from him. He shakes his head slightly and walks out the door, glancing at the ring on his left hand. The difference was, she loved him and he knew it.

What do ya think?
