Unattainable Past
- Pairing -
Soubi + Kio
Soubi stopped in his stride as he scrutinized the bar in front of him. He had already spent the past two hours looking for Kio despite the pain of the injuries he sustained the day before. Soubi opted to look for him at the bars in town because it would be where Kio would usually go to whenever he was feeling down, or in this case, angered.
If it were caused by the childish little quarrels that they usually have from time to time, Soubi would not be so worried about Kio's well-being. But when Kio stomped out of his house earlier this evening, his eyes looked almost…sad.
Finally, Soubi was down to the last bar. Pushing the door open, he immediately spotted the familiar figure and made his way towards the table.
"Kio, let's go home," Soubi said nonchalantly, looking at a rather drunken Kio.
Kio turned towards the figure and frowned. Even through blurred vision, he could tell that it was Soubi, and he was the last person Kio wanted to see now. "I don't hic wanna go hic home…"
Soubi sighed and pulled Kio up from his seat. "Let's go," he said, ignoring Kio's protests.
Even when Kio struggled, Soubi did not loosen his grip on the other's wrist and continued to drag him out of the bar.
Back in Soubi's house, Kio woke up only to realize that he was the only one in the house. He knew that Soubi had probably gone out to see Aoyagi Ritsuka. Kio frowned at the very thought of that name. It was also the reason for his sudden outburst earlier in the evening that caused him to land himself in a bar.
Before, Soubi never had friends. Kio was usually the only one seen together with Soubi, and as bad as it may seem, Kio was happy. He was happy because at that time, he had Soubi all to himself. But somehow, he had a feeling that it wouldn't last.
Soon after Aoyagi Seimei came into the scene, Kio started seeing less and less of Soubi. He was also incapable of understanding why there were times where Soubi was seriously injured. But no matter how much he persuaded, Soubi would never tell him what truly happened. The blonde would just hide it all behind an icy smile.
Later, Seimei passed away and life between Soubi and Kio was starting to return to normal, until Aoyagi Ritsuka came along. Even so, Kio slowly came to accept Soubi's sudden infatuation with that elementary school kid despite how hard it was for him to do so. At least, that was what he thought.
Earlier this evening, Kio did not know how or why, but the patience and self-control he built up all these years fell apart as he lost control of himself in an outburst. But whether it was because Soubi was terribly injured until the extent of being unable to even walk, or because Aoyagi Ritsuka was there by Soubi's side instead of him, he did not know. All he did was run off after walking into that scene, dropping everything he was carrying including a pair of butterfly earrings. A birthday present for Soubi.
Before, Kio used to think that there was a place for him somewhere in Soubi's heart. Now, he was not sure anymore. Kio hated that he never knew what Soubi's relationship was with Aoyagi Seimei. He hated what Soubi could possibly see in Aoyagi Ritsuka. But most of all, Kio hated Soubi for not looking at him.
Because of this, every night Kio would allow himself to break down and cry, drowning himself in sorrow knowing that he could never return to the time where he had Soubi all to himself.
