I'm new at this, so bare with me. It's a very cliché theme for the anime series and might not make perfect sense, but I do hope it is enjoyable.
Disclaimer: I do not own Yami no Matsuei.
-Dreamers-
Hisoka is nothing but a dreamer. He dreams of the living world, even though he still inhabits it. The memories of the past reminisce in his mind. They hurt, but they will always be present and he will always be victim to them.
His parents, the pain, the imprisonment, it will forever linger until he dies, again. Could the dead even die for a second time? He did not know. Something inside of him wished it so. Why would he want to die, again? This time, he could experience life the proper way and everything that ensues along with it, including death.
It troubles him. It resonates down to his concealed core and brings forth so much anguish but that is a step in life. He shall follow each one. That staircase is not meant to be climbed but descended. He starts from the top and slowly walks downward. When he misses a step, there is always someone to catch him.
Tsuzuki.
That man is a dreamer as well. In reality, they all are. Each and every shinigami dreams and experiences their own pasts. Sometimes, their vivid memories keep them awake. For Hisoka, under the ruby moon, that is the case. It is gently raining and yet he sits outside of the mansion as they cherry blossoms shed their petals into the breeze.
When he dreams of his past, while he steps forward in life, the ending sequence is always the same of pink petals, a scarlet moon, tiny droplets and a stream of warm air. That is why this night bothers him. It feels so familiar that he cannot sleep. He may often conjure it in his slumber, but it is far more beautiful in the real world, the living one.
''If you stay out here any longer, you'll catch a cold.'' That voice says to him.
Tsuzuki smiles comfortingly and sits down beside him. He is Hisoka's savior. His arm's wrap around the slender shoulders and, within a blink of his jade eyes, the younger is overwhelmed with feelings. He feels life embrace him when the journey seems desolate and lonely.
Hisoka is not invaded by what ails his partner, but a warm, relaxing sensation. It numbs him and slowly, he sinks into the tenderness enveloping him. Tsuzuki keeps smiling, and his comfort, but a hug relieves the tension that burdens the younger angel of death. His lips, perfectly curved in nostalgia, kiss the pale forehead resting against him.
Emerald orbs swoop shut. Hisoka feels love blooming all around him from the soft touch. He knows that throughout his second chance at a path that this sensation would one day consume him. Love is inevitable, just like everything else. It takes time, but he knows that there will be plenty of days and even more nights of dreams ahead.
Hisoka enjoys the thought of going through life with Tsuzuki.
