Author's Note: This idea just popped into my head a few hours ago and I decided to go with it. I'm a firm supporter of Harry/Ginny and I truely believe that Michael was just a pawn in Ginny's game to get over Harry. If any of my grammar or spelling is off than let me know. OnexShot, suggested HG and MG.

Disclaimer; Ginny, Michael, Harry, etc. all belong to the wonderful JK Rowling.

"I love you, Gin. You know that, right?"

Whenever he asked this question, which was often, she would reply with a small nod, a fake smile and a feeble "yes." He would always smile widely, stupidly and cup her freckled chin with his hands before kissing her. Then, they would whisper goodnight and scuttle off to their separate common rooms. With every step that took her further from him, her guilt increased. She was leading on the poor boy to ignore her heart's real desire and she knew that the relationship would wind up crushing them both in the end.

In Harry's eyes, she would forever be "Ron's little sister," the naive little girl he'd saved from the clutches of death nearly three years ago. Hermione had accidentally mentioned how the Ravenclaw Seeker, Cho Chang, had turned him down as his date to the Yule Ball. It made sense to her. Why would he want to go with a younger girl, his best friend's sister, when he could take an older and prettier one? She'd met Michael Corner at the Ball, he'd fallen head over heels by the end of the night and she wanted to forget about Harry.

Everyone thought that their love was real, it was amazing how naive they were but Ginny wanted to agree with them. She wanted to fall hopelessly in love with Michael, to have her own love story with a perfect ending. Maybe, one day, everything she told herself to feel would come true and she'd forget Harry for good.

does he work for you?

now you feel the fool,

its all because you found a way to ignore your heart.
