Title: Two Swords
Fandom: Gundam Wing
Pairing: 2x5 (Chang Wufei x Duo Maxwell)
Notes: ...Let me just say that I never expected to write anything for this pairing, especially not for my first ever Gundam Wing fic. I didn't even like it when I started this fic, I just had to get this scene out of my head, but now I think I've corrupted myself into liking it cries I've been good at that lately... Not all that romantic, but the pairing is definitely there.
Two swords, two fighters, engaging in an ancient art of battle. Two swords - slicing and cutting through air, dancing with each other. A sudden movement from one figure, an unexpected attack, and the second is thrown to the ground...
"Hey, that hurt!" Duo cried from his abrupt seat on the hard dirt ground of the otherwise empty courtyard they were in.
Sheathing his blunted sword, Wufei retorted, "You're the one who wanted to learn. It's not going to be all fun and games." But despite the rough tone, he held out a hand to help Duo up.
Grasping it firmly, Duo allowed himself to be pulled up with a grunt and then dropped it to rub his arm where he'd been hit.
"That doesn't mean you have to actually try to kill me! Don't you want to protect my good looks?" he added teasingly.
"I'd rather you be alive than pretty," Wufei replied. "And I wasn't trying to kill you. The best way to learn is when it's serious. An enemy isn't going to baby you, why should your teacher?"
"Alright, alright already," Duo sighed. Walking over to where his sword had fallen when flung in his fall, he picked it up before turning to face Wufei again.
"Well, 'Fei, let's get back to business. Don't want me getting hurt in a real battle, now do we? You'd be so lonely!"
Wufei snorted as he readied his stance again. "Really? It'd be so much more peaceful around the house."
"Like I said! You'd get lonely and bored."
Duo fell into the stance flawlessly as well, as Wufei had taught him already, and the Chinese did have to admit that he was a fast learner. Which was all for the better, as Wufei had never thought of himself as a patient mentor, and he would have given up on a less worthy student by now. But that still didn't mean he was going to go easy on his lover.
