Hermione looked around the room. All of them, every single one, had agreed to help. They were going to take a portkey to Voldemort's hideout, fight off the Death Eaters, and rescue Harry and Ginny. The only real flaw in their plan was that they had no plan. They had no idea what would be waiting for them when they arrived. Honestly, it was a horrid idea, but it was the only one they had. Sure they could just wait around for the Order to do their job, but they didn't know how long that would take. Besides, the twins and Ron were too impatient, and with good reason; their only sister who had supposedly been dead for almost a year was alive. What made things worse (and just-so-happened to be a deciding factor in their decision to not wait around for the Order) was the fact that someone had gone to great lengths to orchestrate this deception. Who was this someone? They all agreed that it could only be one person: Albus Dumbledore.

Hermione's gaze reached Ron. He was so determined – it would have been cute under different circumstances. To tell the truth, Hermione was terrified. They were about to go up against the most evil wizard of recent times without having a clue as to how they would succeed. But Ron was going, and someone had to make sure he didn't get himself killed. The underage students gathered around George Weasley, who was holding the portkey, and waited for it to activate. Hermione and the older of the bunch readied their wands to apparate.

"We are going to fake your death." The words hung in the air ominously.

Ginny shook her head in disbelief. "You want to do what?"

"To fake your death." The old man replied unfazed. "It's really the only way to ensure your safety. Everyone will think that you are dead – you and I will be the only ones to know otherwise. You will be randomly placed in a new living situation by the Wizard Protection Program. Even I won't know where you are. You will be sent to live with another wizarding family, but you will live as a Muggle and attend a Muggle school. Your host family will teach you magic, it's less risky that way. Your appearance will also be changed. You will no longer be Ginny Weasley."

"Excellent." Croaked Voldemort, sounding oddly like Mr. Burns from "The Simpsons". He had just concluded a meeting with one of his spies in the Ministry, For once, everything was going his way, The ministry was at a loss as to what should be done about all the recent Death Eater attacks. Both Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley were finally within his grasp, and to top it all off, one of his minions had just intercepted a letter to Dumbledore telling him that Potter and his "friend" had gone missing. Now the old fool would never know anything was amiss with his Golden Child until it was too late. For once there was no one around to foil his evil plans.

Now, to get down to business. There was no point in wasting time, lest his luck should change. He called for his servants to bring him the girl.

A series of loud "cracks" broke Harry from his daze.

"Where is she?" Ron asked his friend as the D.A. appeared from nowhere.

"Wha – wait a minute…where'd you all come from? What are you doing here?"

"We came to help you guys." Neville's shaky uncertain voice arose at the back of the group.

George stepped forward and examined the bars that separated Harry from his friends, while Ron continued to question the prisoner.

"Where's my sister?"

Harry blinked, confused. "Your sister? Ron…are you feeling okay?"

Ron and Hermione exchanged a glance as George "Alohamora-ed" the lock.

"Haven't you heard mate?" Lee Jordan put forth cheerily. "Ginny's alive. Faked her death it turns out. Been using a fake identity ever since."

"Ginny faked her death?" Harry repeated, shocked at the revelation.

"Harry," Hermione began gently, "Ginny's death was faked and she's been living in Muggle America ever since. Harry," She paused before continuing. "She's been using the alias 'Mari Smith'".

Harry looked at his friend in disbelief. "What are you saying?"

"Harry," Hermione said again, as if saying his name would help him accept the truth. "Mari Smith is Ginny Weasley."

Lucius Malfoy was on his knees before his master.

"Before that little brat ruined everything," Voldemort spat out referring to his previous downfall at the hands of a one-year-old Harry Potter, "I entrusted to you a rather valuable possession of mine; a diary from my youth.. I have use for this diary once again."

Malfoy faltered. "But – but…my Lord…" He stammered nervously, realizing he had made a grave mistake. "The diary…it…"
"Do you have the diary or not?" Voldemort questioned menacingly.

"Yes my lord." He raised his wand. "Accio Diary!"

A small book found its way to the Death Eater's waiting hand. He then returned it to its proper owner. Voldemort examined his property. The diary, stained with dried ink splatters, had a large fang protruding from its center.

"Basilisk." He murmured to himself as he scrutinized it before returning his gaze to Malfoy.

"Please my lord…"

"Silence! I am assuming you have an explanation." He spoke harshly.

"My lord… five years ago, with the help of this diary, the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts was re-opened. Four Mudblood students were petrified. There would have been more had Potter not interfered. He killed the basilisk and stuck one of its fangs through the book."

"Who was it that opened the Chamber?" The Dark Lord asked with rising interest.

"The youngest Weasley; Ginny, they call her."

"Ginny Weasley." Repeated Voldemort. "Very interesting. Crucio!"
