Lupin's Revenge

By Moony

I do not and wish I do own any of the characters from Harry Potter, which are the right of J.K. Rowling.

I was reading Paddy's fic, and then I thought of how Umbridge should be punished. And here was it. Oh yeah, I borrowed a tiny part of that fic. –Moony

So it was full moon again. Lupin howled mournfully as his body assumed the wolf form. The werewolf form. Of course, he had drunk the Wolfsbane Potion, so it was all right to run around, pretending to be just a regular wolf, after all, his mind was still human. The only part of him that was werewolf really, was his body. And the mind controlled the body, and since his mind was human... well, it was ok. In fact, Sirius had joined him, as Snuffles, of course, just to keep him company for fun. Like the old days. But they still had to keep hidden, because, it was quite odd for a dog to be walking alongside a wolf – a werewolf at that.

The full moon glittered silvery like over their heads, casting a pearly glow over the two animal friends. As they walked along the path, they spotted a short, squat, toad-like figure coming down the road.

Lupin heard Sirius give a bark next to him as they ducked behind a tree. It was the bark he gave whenever he had an evil scheme. Lupin took a closer look at the figure and saw who it was – Dolores Umbridge.

Sirius barked even joyfully and nudged him on.

Oh no… I can't do that. No matter how tempting it is.

But he wanted to. His teeth were longing to do it, give that Umbridge woman a taste of how it was like to be a half-breed and treated like dirt. How it felt to not be able to get jobs. How it was like to see people running away at the mention of yourself being a werewolf. What it felt to not be able to go anywhere because of that condition, and all her terrible laws making it all too worse to be a half-breed. Yes, giving her that taste would be the ultimate revenge.

But Remus knew he should not. It wasn't human. He didn't want to put others through the pain.

And then again, this was Dolores Umbridge. The cause of the pains of the werewolves.

Siriusbobbed his head up and down, and his eyes gleamed mischievously.

I mustn't, I mustn't.

But the temptation was getting hard to fight, as he remembered being tied to a pole outside the Ministry. As he remembered searching endlessvaccancies for jobs. As he remembered trying to help theOrder convince everyone You-Know-Who was back. The humiliation rose up in him, as he stared at the woman who had done all that to him. Yes, he would do it. Just once. Just to Umbridge. Just to the woman who had caused so much pain and trouble. He would cause the same amount of pain and trouble back. Because people like Umbridge would never learn.

He gave Sirius a werewolf smile and slunk behind her. She didn't even notice.

Remus opened his mouth, and bared his teeth, shimmering in the moonlight. Heclosed his eyes and sank those sharp teeth right intoher ankle. Such satisfaction! To cause this woman all this pain! To show her what it was like! It tasted wonderful, wonderfully revengeful. And then wolf and dog disappeared into the shadow of the woods, as the toad-like woman slowly transformed. Fur sprouted, clawsgrew, teeth were formed. The whole town could hear her screams of agony.

Lupin's revenge was complete.
