The perfect date
A/n another 4th of July story. It's DRR.pls review. If I owned anything relating to the x-files I wouldn't be at this computer right now.
July 4th 9:00 AM basement of j.edgar Hoover building
"Hey Mon"
"Hey John"
"We got any cases today"
"I wish" replied Monica and smiled. John just melted. He just loved her smile.
They both started on paperwork seeing as they both had a lot of it to do.
"John, what are you doing tonight?"
"Probably goanna watch the fireworks on TV and order a pizza. You?"
"I kind of want to go watch the fireworks but I don't really have anyone to go with."
"If you want to go I'll go with you"
"Really? Are you sure?"
"Yah"
"Thanks John"
"I'll pick you up about 8 so we can get a good spot.k?"
"Ok"
Monica's apartment 8:00pm
"Hey john" Monica said as she opened her door to let John in.
"Hey"
"Well we should get going"
"Yah"
They parked and found a good spot.
"Shit" john said
"What?"
"I forgot a blanket."
"I brought one and munchies too."
"What would I do without you Monica?"
"I don't know" she said as she blushed.
"What would you rather" she asked "cool ranch or zesty?"
"Cool ranch."
Seeing as they still had awhile to go they started to talk. They talked about lots of things. Monica asked"are you happy working on the x-files?"
"I didn't think I would be but yah I am"
"Are you?" he asked.
"Couldn't be happier"
"Good cause I wouldn't want to work with any one else."
"That's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me."
"I mean it." "You've always been there for me Monica, never asking for anything in return I don't know what I'd do without you."
"I'll always be there for you john"
They both smiled and before either one knew it they were both leaning in for their first kiss.Thier lips meet. After a couple seconds the fireworks started. It startled them both and then they smiled knowing that this was the first of many great holidays to come.
