For four hundred years I have awoken-
To a starry golden sky
My world was that of a warrior-
A warlord with blazing blue-green eyes
I made three friends in that fighter's land-
Saw my country rise and fall
Watched as the world zoomed right past my eyes-
As if physically, nothing had changed at all
I was, however, a puppet-
A doll, a toy, a pawn
So I gave up my friends-
My gold-colored sky-
Moreover, I took up a new call
I returned to the realm of my birth-
The yellow sun lording over the sky
I made new friends-
Tried to wipe the slate clean-
It was brief-
But worthwhile
I have now been recalled-
To the world I had tried leave behind
I am need there to save my friends-
But which ones-
At which time
Does my world have a splendid sun-?
Or the sky as golden as a honey bee
Are the faces of those who will welcome me back-?
Count up to five-
Or the number three
Do I belong in a pre-Edo castle-?
Or a post-Showa era home
Just what kind of person am I?
And where precisely do I belong?

End Notes-The Edo reference refers to the era after Anubis lived his "human" life, in which all of Japan was united under the Tokugawa Shogunate. Showa, the formal name for the Japanese Emperor Hirohito, was the Emperor of Japan throughout World War Two. After the war, the Emperor remained on the throne, and was not tried for war crimes, but was forced to renounce his claim as the progeny of the Sun Goddess to the Japanese public, an act that would have greatly shocked the four warlords.
