A/N You know the drill ALL FIXED WITH NEW END OF CHAPTER!

Harry was following Reamus into the forest. He had wondered what Reamus was up to but that wasn't the only reason. Harry had some questions for him. He had noticed since the final battle Reamus seamed distracted about something, and now he was walking into the forest for no apparent reason. Harry also wanted to know; why he'd seen Percy's letter to Amber in Reamus' hand earlier that day, and what did all this mean to him? How did Reamus fit into all of this about Severus?

He had found him at last, after loosing him amid the trees, standing with Amber. Wasn't there another person? He thought looking around. OK, Reamus is talking with Amber on the path, but wait! He saw what he was looking for. They hadn't noticed Lucious Malfoy standing a few feet behind them.

"Look out!" he called realizing too late that their attention would turn to him rather then to the person he wanted them to look out for.

Lucious taking this as a perfect opening to strike lifted his wand spat Crucio sending the curse at Reamus. He smirched with satisfaction as the half-breed fell to the ground in pain. With swift action he strode forward seizing the girl by the hair pulling her off the path.

Harry ran up the path drawing his wand as he did so. "You let her go Malfoy!"

"Potter, you realize that I have the advantage in the situation," he sneered pulling Amber to her feet as he spoke, "you take one step and I can kill her with a word. You know I can, and will do it."

"No, you wouldn't." came Reamus' raged voice as he rose from his knees, "I know you Lucious that's too quick, too painless for you."

"What if kill you instead?" he asked his eyes flashed to the girl gauging her reaction, "'tis true that you would not feel pain, but something tells me… Amber here just couldn't bear to lose someone else…" sensing he was right he raised his wand again, "now let's see shall we?"

Ron was saying, "I don't know why he's coming along anyway," as they trudged through the forest after Harry. He indicated Draco who glared at him in response.

"Shush!" hissed Aziza, "I thought I heard something."

"...Amber here just couldn't bear to loose someone else...now let's see shall we?" came the voice of Lucious Malfoy.

"No," said Hermione softly, "It's Reamus," she informed them as she had the clearest view of what was happening.

Draco looked from one face to the other, "Well," he said drawing his wand, "what are we waiting for surely your Griffendor saving instinct has kicked in by now."

"We can't just go into the middle of it," explained Emily ignoring the Griffendor remark, "he'll kill Amber or Reamus, or maybe both before we can get to them."

"And I suppose you have a better idea?" he asked with annoyance an edge to his voice.

"Yeah," said Ron eyes sparkling, "I think I do, come on." he added taking the lead the other's fallowed without protest. This wasn't the time to stop and ask questions with lives hanging in the balance.

Lucious savored the moment his wand poised to strike; eyes sparkling with pleasure at the fear in the girl's eyes. Amber couldn't look away she knew she should but then Reamus caught her gaze. I'm not afraid to die, he thought urgently trying to communicate this to her, why should I be? After all I'll see James, Sirius, and Lily again.

"Yes," came a familiar voice in his head, "you will in time old friend, but not now. You have to be there for her." That voice belonged to Sirius Black who'd been dead for two years now.

Have I gone mad? Reamus thought.

"No,'' came the response, "just wait a few more seconds. Ron, Aziza, Hermione, Emily, and Draco are on their way."

That settled it for Reamus he thought he couldn't be that explicate if he was making it up. Further more he wouldn't have thought Draco Malfoy would be saving his life.

No had Reamus come to this realization then a mighty roar irrupted to their left…
