Stupid
1. Taylor and Eric . . .
Taylor sat in her favorite tree placed about the center of Animaria, the jungle area. Her growl phone went off.
"Hello?" she said.
"Hello, is this Taylor Earhardt?"
"Yes," she replied.
"Hey Taylor, its Wes." She sighed in relief.
"What's up?"
"Eric was shot badly today and may not make it . . ." Taylor dropped her growl phone and cried heavy sobs.
Max looked off to a distance on the ground. He saw a small shiny thing on the ground and went to pick it up.
"A growl phone?" he murmured. "Hello?"
"Go away, Max," he heard from above. He looked up to find Taylor.
"Tay', what's wrong?" he asked.
"Go away!" she ordered. Her voice was cold and full of venom.
"Tay', are you crying?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Eric died!" she screamed. "Okay? Is that what you wanted to hear?" He climbed the tree and sat next to her. She looked him in the eyes. "The only person that understands me died."
"I understand you, Taylor," he said softly.
"How could you?" she asked harshly, tears still falling.
"Because you're looking me in the eyes, not off in the distance," he said and added softly, "And I almost lost you."
"Lost me?" she questioned, wiping her eyes.
"When we were fighting to solve that puzzle, you fell first and I thought I would lose you," he explained, fighting back tears. "We aren't that much alike, but you're my friend, and I care about you."
"Max," she sobbed. He hugged her and started to cry.
"Let's get down from here and call Wes. Maybe Eric's okay," he tried to reason. They climbed down and called Wes.
"How is he?" Taylor asked.
"He didn't make it," Wes said sadly and softly.
"Thanks, Wes, bye," she said and hung up. "He didn't make it," she cried to Max. He held her and let her cry.
