'The Tragedy of Perfection'

She strived for perfection during life.
She wanted to be the best daughter, the best archer, the best friend, and as she grew up, the best priestess and the best protector of the Shikon jewel.
But she fell in love with someone who didn't fit her idea of perfect. An imperfect man- half demon, half human. She wanted to change him. She never realized her love was imperfect, because she loved him for who he could be, not for who he was.
Kagome knew nobody could be perfect. Flaws were what made humans human. She thought it was the same for demons. She wasn't always the sweetest child, or the smartest student, or the most creative artist. She was herself, and knew that by being herself, she was perfect. She loved Inuyasha for both his strengths and weaknesses.
Kikyou thought by being perfect, her life would be perfect. Kagome knew that by doing the best she could, life would be perfect.
