Chasing The Thief

Chap.1

When I was but a child

I had a dream worthy of no one so mild

I heard of one my own age

Who was wiser than the sage

He had evaded all mortal possibilities of capture

And hearing his tale wound me in rapture

Though young, I felt sure to catch

This thief,

To deliver and lock him up, then close the latch

Too bad I didn't see the catch

When one attempts to catch a thief, they intend to catch him. They do not listen to all about him. A shame I didn't; a shame I made the mistake of all.

He can steal any jewel before you blink

He can ghost past your side before you think

He's been to heaven, earth, and hell,

And knows his history of burglary well

He's wiser than the sage,

But younger than the oak

He steals both stars and hearts alike

And is the phantom of our age

His tone is courteous,

His frame slender and sleek

He is the master thief that all policemen seek

He is the golden thief.
