Rave: this is a little one-shot I had lurking in the back of one of my old notebooks, and I figured I'd best put it on here, cos my other fic is on hiatus. I changed my pen name...

All:groan: again!

Rave: well, it was simpler, and this fits me best. Anyway, I own nothing, so read it and enjoy.

Palms slick with perspiration, Yuugi grasped the phone, fear gripping him in a vise that made his head spin. Nervous, unsteady fingers clumsily managed to dial the right numbers, but controlling his arm was a different matter. At the moment, the muscles betrayed him, not wanting to bring the mouthpiece close enough.

Of all things, how could Mutou Yuugi, King of Games, be so worked up that he couldn't usethe telephone properly? The little nervous habits began to emerge- the twisting of the phone cord, drumming fingers against the edge of the table, and the uneasy humming out the corner of his mouth as the rings echoed in his ears. Each ring seemed painfully loud as Yuugi counted each time.
Two.
Three.
Four.
On the fifth ring, someone picked up.

"Moshi moshi?"

The voice on the other end sounded so distant and faraway, Yuugi delayed his response to choose his words carefully. It was only the insistent urge of "Who is it?" that he said abruptly

"Anzu…how much for one night?"

Behind him, Jonouchi sank to his knees laughing hysterically. Anzu's reaction was drowned out by a pronounced thud, and a scurry of footsteps across the living room.
