Hello again! As you can see I am uploading this chapter fast. It's just because it's Spring Break and I'm bored. Sigh. Oh well, I really had no idea where I wanted to go with this chapter. Then, I started thinking, What if Arnold and Helga had a dream about each other together. Do you understand that? Well you'll figure it out once you read this. I hope you like it. Remember: this chapter is a dream sequence mostly. P.S. This is Chapter 3.
Disclaimer: I do not own Hey Arnold! All those rights belong to Craig Bartlett and Nickelodeon.

Chapter 3: Misconception
Everything's perfect, just like I always imagined. Emotions and thoughts were beginning to overwhelm Helga. She cast her eyes down watching her hands, Stop shaking! C'mon Helga you can do this. This is what you've always wanted, right?
"Are you nervous?"
Where was that voice coming from? Helga glanced over her shoulder to see Pheobe staring at her.
"Oh, Pheobe, look at me, do I look nervous? Of course I'm not," Helga replied, sarcasm in her voice.
"Okay Helga, but you can tell me if you are. This is your wedding! You must be feeling something." Pheobe stepped in front of Helga and placed a petite hand on Helga's arm trying to reassure her.
"Crimeny, I'm fine," said Helga. Annoyance was the only feeling she felt right now. Why doesn't anybody believe me? Suddenly, the opening lines of the Wedding March, played by beautiful string instruments, sifted into the room inviting Helga to walk down the aisle.
"Are you ready?"
"Pheobe, I don't know if I can do this," Helga said, but this time panic congested her voice. I'm going to throw up.
"You'll be fine," Pheobe assured. For the first time I know Helga is going to be truly happy. Tears presented themselves in her eyes as she sidestepped out of Helga's view. It's time for me to let her go.
Helga took a final look at her friend letting water pile in her crystal eyes. You've always been there for me. A smile fixed itself on her mouth as she wiped the wetness off her face. Thank you.
Helga shifted uneasily in her sleep. On her pillow sat a large pool of drool that continued to grow. She rolled on her stomach resting her face in the saliva. Feeling the moisture she turned on to her back revealing a wide smile printed across her face.

At the alter Arnold stood, watching intently as the large, mahogany doors opened to reveal his bride. Nothing could have prepared him for the emotions that were making their presence in his heart. I've waited for this moment for so long. Wanting to savor every detail Arnold observed the chambers. It's all perfect. Burning candles illuminated the church discarding a sweet, cinnamon aroma that danced at the noises of the guests, off-white walls were enriched by a deep oak molding that touched ceiling and floor, sunshine radiated through the colored glass windows adding a subtle simplicity that offset the extravagant decorations and in the benches sat a hundred friends and family members anticipating the start of the ceremony.
Suddenly, everyone in the room stood to welcome Arnold's bride through her barrier of wood. Here she comes, thought Arnold, excitement overcoming his thoughts, she's beautiful. Several gasps of admiration came from some as Helga graced the aisle. For a moment thinking became impossible. Arnold became entranced, unable to speak or move.
His mouth fell open while his eyes grazed Helga. She wore a simple gown, but in all the simplicity Helga's breathtaking features took over. The gown hugged all of her curves, not letting one go unnoticed. A long train cascaded from the corset back causing her waist to shrink inches in size.
At Arnold's side stood Gerald who turned his head to look at Arnold. He smiled to himself; he looks like a crazy fool.
"Hey Arnold, snap out of it," Gerald whispered nudging Arnold gently. Hastily, Arnold shook his head peering at his best man.
"Isn't she stunning, Gerald?" Arnold sighed. A relaxed look came over Arnold's eyes causing Gerald's curiosity to peak. What is he thinking about? No, wait, I don't even want to know.
Helga reached the alter, tears brimming her eyes. She held out her hand elegantly for Arnold to take into his. Arnold ecstatically obliged and enfolded his large hand over her small one. Together they turned to face the minister waiting to become united as one.
"Today we are here to celebrate the marriage of Arnold Parker and Helga Pataki…"
Tears rolled down Arnold's cheeks as he slept in his bed. The dream had become so real…

"Do you, Arnold take Helga to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
"And Helga do you take Arnold to be your lawfully wedded husband?" Helga paused to ponder the question. Am I ready for this? She looked into Arnold's worried eyes, Yeah, I think its time.
"I do." Helga gazed tearfully at Arnold who returned her stare with a loving glance.
Helga rotated to sleeping on her side and as if facing turmoil Helga's expression formed into an angry glare.

"Does anyone in the room object to this marriage?" The overseers responded with silence.
"Well then, let no man separate this sacred bond between this man and this woman," the minister closed his Bible, "I now announce you man and wife. Arnold you may kiss the bride." Eagerly, Arnold lifted the veil from his wife's face. A luring smile pasted Helga's face. With no delay, Arnold leaned down to meet Helga's balmy lips for the first time in their matrimony.
"I love you Helga," Arnold whispered finishing the cradling kiss. Abruptly, Helga pulled away from Arnold, a look of fear flashing in her eyes. What's going on? Arnold's mind raced for a possible answer to her rapid action against him.
"Arnold I'm sorry, I thought I could do this, but I can't." Tears welled up in her eyes causing her mascara to run. "Please don't be mad," Helga pressed.
"But I lov-," Helga cut him off.
"Please don't," Helga pleaded, now hysterical. She turned away from her husband and waited for the response from her family.
Arnold pushed the covers off of his body. Sweat covered his body making it hard for him to succumb to his normal body temperature.

"What's the girl doin' Miriam?!" Bob tapped his wife's shoulder. What the heck is she trying to do?! I paid too much for this dang wedding for her to ruin it!
"I don't know B. I think, um, I think she doesn't want to marry, uh, what's-his-name," she slurred.
"Alfred, Miriam, his name is Alfred. I swear is she crazy?!" Bob rose from his seat on the bench to address Helga, "Little girl you better turn around right now and tell Alfred that you changed your mind and that you'll marry him!"
I knew they didn't care. From behind Arnold placed his hand on Helga's shoulder, but she shook it off. I don't need him to come to my rescue anymore. Her eyes glazed over the rest of the guests, "You can all leave. I'm sorry I wasted your time." Helga dashed out the doors and found herself outside. Rain pounded the ground soaking her dress, but still, she continued to run, afraid to stop. Then a thought disrupted her, what am I afraid of?
Thump!
Helga woke up to discover she had fallen on the floor. Where am I? Her eyes traveled upwards looking at her mangled bed. Crimeny! I fell off my bed again. Her mind lingered back to her dream. Was it supposed to be telling me something? Picking herself up she lowered her body onto the sheets. Within moments a hushed snore sounded from Helga's mouth.
At the alter Arnold remained, mute to what had happened. Some of the guests offered him words of advice, but others had decided to leave the uneasy environment. To Arnold, the only thing he heard were muffled voices coming from a distance. I don't understand.
Arnold's grandparents stayed in their seats unable to comprehend words that would comfort their grandson. All of Helga's family had left saying their deepest apologies to the groom. Arnold didn't care. He only wanted Helga to return to him.
"Look, man, its okay," words were at a loss to Gerald. What do you say to a guy who just got dumped at his wedding?
"Gerald I thought she loved me."
"She does, sh-she just needs a little time, that's all."
Arnold lowered himself and sat on the marble floor. What did I do wrong?
Jolting from his slumber Arnold sat on his bed gasping for air. Looking out his window he saw that it was still night outside. Slowly he returned his head to his pillow, but before he could return to his sleep a thought passed through his head, what was that dream supposed to mean?
"But Pheobs, I love Ar- I mean ice cream. Why would I have done that?" When Helga awoke this morning she couldn't stop her mind from gravitating to the dream she had last night. Every detail stayed vivid in her head. It's almost like I was there.
"I don't really know why you would have done that Helga, but sometimes dreams are our subconscious trying to tell us something," Pheobe stated pushing her glasses back up her nose.
"Darn it Pheobe. What the heck are you trying to say?"
"Well, your subconscious is probably trying to tell you something. I'm not exactly sure what, but it could possibly have nothing to do with, er, ice cream."
"Really?" Relief filled Helga's heart. Phoebe nodded her head.
This realization processed quickly through Helga's mind. So I'm okay, everything's still okay. I still love Arnold, so I'm still okay.
A/N: I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this chapter. Tell me your opinions of it. How do you feel about the whole dream sequence? Where do you think the story should go from here? I don't even know what's going to happen. You never know, I could use some of your ideas. They'd have to be really good, though. J/KJ
Do you like the last name I gave Arnold? I used the last name of the guy I'm totally obsessed about. I won't tell you who I'm talking about. HeHeHe Ah…what the heck, it's Tony Parker. He's this basketball player that plays for the Spurs. He is sooo cute and has the sexiest accent. sigh
