I hope I didn't confuse ya'll.  Everyone has to remember that Helga has never met Dr. Bliss in this story.  They're complete strangers.  I had to change that part a bit.  So please bear with me.  I'm glad everyone liked the last chapter because it was a pain to write it. :)

Disclaimer: I don't own Hey Arnold!

Thanks to those who have reviewed:

Estel fuga- I'm thrilled you liked it.  I absolutely loved writing Dr. Bliss's character.  She is just really intriguing with some of her answers.  And Brainy, I don't know about Brainy.  I know he has a little more personality in him somewhere.  I know and I'm sorry it's going slow. At this rate it is going to take 20 chapters to finish it.  But it will all be worth it in the end.  That is so sweet. :) Do really think my writing is amazing? I never thought of it that way because I just write. Me being the author, I can always find a spot in my chapters where I felt it could be better.  I can't wait to hear what you think of this chapter.  I have another story in plan after this, but after that I could retire from writing.  I'm just kidding, I won't.  Thanks for the review.

RuffMaster- I know, I know.  It's so complicated with Helga and Brainy.  I mean I can't solve their problems, which it is much deeper than just a problem, in one chapter.  Sigh, although I wish I could.  Yeah, I'll probably speed the story up jus a tad, but other than that I like the way it's progressing.  I'll go check out your story, and thank you for reviewing.

Texaco Tex- I'm just going to take a wild guess at this but are you from Texas?  Because if you are, so am I!  That is so awesome. :) I'm ecstatic you thought of my story so highly.  Yeah I was thinking about doing that, but I don't think I will.  Still, you never know, I could change my mind at the last moment. I always do. Thanks so much for the review.

Ms Frosty- Wow, I haven't heard from you for a long time.  I'm so glad you're back! Did you read my note before the chapter started?  In this story Helga and Dr. Bliss have never met.  I hope you still like the confusion and I'm glad you liked this chapter.

Cook101- Yeah, I know what you mean.  Helga is my favorite character too.  I love I love Lucy.  It is and will always be one of my favorite TV shows although I don't watch it that much anymore.  I think I started watching it when I was 4.  Wow, that is a long time.  I'm happy you liked the stuff with Dr. Bliss.  Thank you, that was such a nice compliment.  I really appreciate it. I've never written seriously until now, but I don't think I'll ever get that serious.  Mostly, I just do it for fun.  Thank you a lot for the review.

Chapter 14: Clarified Questions

From school, Helga walked home by herself.  Nobody accompanied her, not Brainy or Arnold.  And to her, it almost felt odd not to have someone beside her.  But at the same time relief came to her psyche at being alone.  To be able to analyze her thoughts without the annoyance of interruption proved beneficial to Helga.

A succor sigh came from her mouth.  Today had demonstrated the example of complication.  But with all the complexity Helga had learned something.  No longer would she allow someone other than herself to answer her life's conflicts.  Dr. Bliss had taught her that she possessed the capability of solving them on her own.  That knowing brought an underestimated satisfaction to Helga.  She understood she could care for herself when no one else would.  Maybe her new found strength was not lost.

As she continued to walk a light sprinkle fell from the sky.  Looking up, Helga noticed an immense charcoal cloud above that threatened more than a drizzle to the people below.  Darn it!  Quickening her pace, she pulled her jacket over her head.  With strengthening force, the rain began to plummet on Helga's body.

"Crimeny! Why can't I live closer to the school," Helga complained as she pushed her legs to a jog.

Thunder sounded as Arnold stood at Helga's front door.  He knocked on the lavender wood blatantly, but no one acknowledged his existence.   Refusing to surrender so easily to Helga's absence, he remained standing on the top step of her stoop.  He would not leave until he spoke to her.  Even if she despised him Arnold would not depart.  In the depths of his mind he could not reprehend a reason as to why Helga should not hate him.  He still could not forgive himself for allotting her in the hallway with feelings of rejection.

Moving his hand across his brow, Arnold ridded the chilled rain from his face.  Weary, he leaned against the entrance.  It's been a long day, but hopefully be I'll rewarded for it before it's over.

Adrenaline pumped violently through Helga's veins as she escalated her legs to a faster speed.  For some unknown reason, not because of the enduring rain, she felt she had to move faster.  Something wonderful waited for her arrival at home.

When she reached Vineland Street her pace slowed again to a measured jog.  Suspicious queries arose in her mind.  I'm probably making this out to be something bigger than it is.  It's probably nothing.  Curiosity still satiated her body.  Plodding to a walk, it struck Helga that she had no reason for her curiosity; all she owned as evidence were her wavering feelings.

Two houses separated Helga from her surprise. Now one, now…

"Arnold?!" Helga gasped as she halted any further movements abruptly.  Standing at the bottom step, she peered up incredulously at the soaked young man.  This confirmed more than she expected.  Since this morning she had wanted to see Arnold and now he presented himself before her.  Never had she believed he would actually come to her.  Could it be that Lila wasn't lying?

"Helga," Arnold said.  All the words he had planned before their encounter diminished from his mind.  He stood speechless on the top step unable to comprehend movement.

"Wh-What are you doing here?" Helga inquired, taking a step forward.  Too many questions arose in her head for her to experience a loss of words as Arnold.

Continuing to stare at her, Arnold did not apperceive an answer.  He knew why he presented himself here, but the words denied their appearance at his lips.  His eyes traced steadily along Helga's silhouette.  She is so beautiful.  The rain permitted no sympathy to befall on her as it persisted to hit her body relentlessly.   Her clothes adhered to her frame affectionately.  Around her square face, golden strands of hair fell in a tangled heap.  In her entrancing eyes an impeccant gaze transformed causing Arnold to stare harder.  She appeared in front of him as a small child who stood destitute from their mother's love.  Arnold did not want words to complicate the moment.  All he desired was to seize her firmly in his overpowering arms.

"Arnold?" Helga repeated, remaining on the second step.  What's a matter with him? He appeared much like a deer who watched oblivious as a car drove straight toward it.  Why is he staring at me like that? Helga craved to move her shivering body to his solid one, but her legs denied the action triumphantly.  Now, she wanted to scream at him for causing paranoia to enter her thoughts.  She wanted to grab his shoulders and shake him furiously for his explanation, but her whole body denied that action.  Instead, she fixed her eyes to the cement as a way to shield her from his intimidating stare.

Still, no words surfaced for Arnold.  C'mon you can do this, think of something. I'm losing her.  With no other comprehendible idea, Arnold turned to his heart.  He could not be sensible now.  Unhurried, he took the necessary steps to where Helga stood.  Cupping his left hand into hers, he brought his other to her chin.  Gradually, he raised her head so that he could meet her crystal eyes.  For the first time in his life he saw fear illuminated in her face.  Her protruding lips quivered at his touch.  Desperately, Arnold coveted for them to stop.  Bringing his composed mouth to hers he bestowed on her an unyielding kiss that satisfied every indifferent emotion in his body.

Helga allowed her body to liquefy as she savored his lips on hers.  So taken, she brought her free hand to his cheek, embracing him.  Never did she want it to end.  Even forever did not seem long enough.  Oh Arnold

For the next moment they abided to this position as the rain ceased to halt for their love.  The rain would bring no end to them because they did not care.  All that concerned them was that they were together and would never be apart again.

Casually walking underneath his umbrella, Brainy neared Helga's house.  He understood no inclination as to how she would react to his sudden appearance.  Worry sifted though him at the idea of Helga slamming the door in his face.  Brainy understood she owned every right in doing that.  He had overreacted terribly and all day he felt miserable.  Let…her…take me…back. If she refused, Brainy could not comprehend how he would live on.  I…know…she loves…me.

As Brainy drew closer to Helga's house his anticipation emerged once again, but then he saw it.  On Helga's steps, she and Arnold groped each other tightly.  Anger abruptly commanded Brainy's body causing his sensibility to become irrelevant to his fury.

"Helga!" his voice pierced through the lover's ears.

Startled, Helga turned from Arnold's lips to confront the voice.

"I knew it.  I knew you were cheating on me.  How could you do this to me?!" No abstract wheezing slurred his voice, instead untamed acrimony overtook it.  Deferring his umbrella to the ground, Brainy took a step toward Helga.

Helga retracted her body against Arnold's secure frame.  She had no conception of what Brainy affirmed capable of when raging emotions controlled him.

"Brainy, I-we- How can I be cheating on you when were not even together?" Regaining courage, Helga pointed her finger quizzically towards Brainy.

She's not…the one...I want.  Ignoring Helga, Brainy pushed her aside and lifted his curled fist toward Arnold.

"This…is all…your…fault."  Brainy hurtled his fist into Arnold's nose, causing Arnold to stagger backwards.  Blood began pouring freely from his face, but before Arnold could return the action Helga intervened.

"Look Bucko!" Helga yelled, pushing her hand on Brainy's chest, "This is not Arnold's fault!" She could not accredit as to what had occurred in the past moments.  Her life had just exhibited perfection, now it was portrayed as a disarrayed mess.

"Then…who's…is…it Helga?" Brainy propelled his body close to hers.

Watching the scene develop from behind, Arnold held on to his nose firmly.  A sweeping desire of revenge overcame him, but his rational thinking seized it.  He would not fight Brainy because it would not prove anything to his morale or Helga.

"It's mine," Helga responded naively.   Staring at him with an expression of guilt fixed into her unsettled features, Helga attempted to calm his indignation.  Success proffered obsolete as the anger would not subside, "Brainy, I'm sorry. It's all my fault." Tears occluded Helga's eyes as she spoke the truth.

        "What?"

"I did this to you, Brainy.  You have every stupid right to blame me, but not Arnold," Helga declared, resting her hand on Brainy's shoulder as a way of comforting him.  But he shook it off.

"I've…got…to go," Brainy informed her as he walked to his umbrella.  After grasping it, he ran across the street, disappearing into a desolate alley.

"Brainy! Don't go!" Helga cried, extending her arms to the direction he left.  Once the blood had settled, Arnold wrapped his arms around Helga's waist.

"Let go of me," Helga stated, rotating her body to encounter him.

"What's wrong? Everything's okay now.  He's gone," Arnold reminded her.  A state of confusion passed over him.  Everything is supposed to be okay now.  Again, he attempted to engulf his arms around her frame.

"Hands off Football Head," Helga coerced.  Nothing seemed right anymore.  Every action Arnold generated towards her she surmised as foreign.

"But Helga-," Arnold started, "I love you."

Disregarding his plea, Helga walked pass him towards the entrance.  Slowly, she opened the door and stepped inside.  Gently, she shut it behind her and collapsed to the tiled floor.  Muffled cries congested her throat.  How could I do that?  Somehow she had managed to ail the two people that mattered most in her life without trying.

A/N: Wow, well now that that is done. :) I hope you guys are happy to hear the long awaited talk between Helga, Arnold, and Brainy.  Is it everything you expected? Please, don't forget to review. P.S. I'm sorry for the shortness, but I didn't want to take away from the main issue in this chapter.
