Pest Control

"Mikey you gonna help or what?" Leo demanded.

"Coming." Mikey put down the remote control.

"You don't need to go far." Said Don sarcastically. "Just off the couch."

"Need help?" Mikey asked as he hopped off the couch.

"No thanks. That was help enough." Don replied.

"Actually you can help. We need you to make a phone call. Tell April to expect us in about two hours." Leo instructed.

"Ok."

Mikey rushed off to call April while the others continued to pile furniture into the centre of the room.

"Yep… that's right… uh huh… no don't worry about that. We're not sleeping over. Nope just needs a few hours. Yep thanks. Toodle-loo."

"She agreed." Mikey announced and then headed for the kitchen.

"How are you guises doing?"

"How do you think?" Raph replied.

He and Splinter had been busy clearing out the kitchen cupboards and piling everything onto the table in the middle of the room. They had an odd assortment of cooking utensils and two cardboard boxes filled with food.

"Help me seal the boxes." Said Splinter as he handed Raph the masking tape.

"Mikey you're needed." Leo called from the living room.

Mikey liked that. He liked the feeling of being wanted. Just this morning his service had been called for four times already. First to pile all his stuff into the middle of his room as the others had done with theirs. Second to move off the couch while watching the morning chat show. Third to phone April and now fourth to…

"You and Leo go do the dojo while I get the solution ready." Don instructed.

"What's the point of moving everything out when we're gonna have to put it all back in again?" Mikey asked as he and Leo headed for the dojo.

"It makes it easier to spray." Leo replied. "Besides, do you really wanna have dead roaches all over our stuff?"

"Hey just imagine if we were the roaches." Said Mikey absent-mindedly.

"Don't imagine." Said Leo.

"Poor roaches. It's like they were born just to be sprayed at."

"Or squished." Leo put in.

"Yeah. I mean I do have roach phobia but I still can't help feeling sorry for them."

"Don't worry Mikey. For every poor roach to feel the wrath of Don't pesticide, hundreds more will take its place. There'll be plenty more roaches for you to be scared of." Leo reminded him.

"That's not funny." Said Mikey.

Donatello meanwhile was getting ready for the big kill. He poured the mixture into a small tank and attached the nozel.

"Here's the plan. Leo and I will spray all the rooms. Mikey and Raph, you guys will put these white balls in all the drawers and cupboards. Sensei, can you please help us shut all the doors?"

"Is there anything else you would like me to do?" Splinter asked, a little disappointed that he had been given the easiest task.

"Uh… no sensei." Don replied.

"Alright let's get going." Said Leo.

And they were off. Raph and Mikey got a bag of white balls each and ran to all the cupboards while Don and Leo began the painfully slow process of spraying every edge and corner of every room in the lair.
