"Beautiful weather, ne Sango-chan?"
Sango looked down too see Miroku lying on his back on the side of the riverbank she was standing on.
"Un. It is."
Miroku opened one blue eye to stare at her, "Sit Sango-chan, I won't do anything."
Sango hesitated before sitting next to him, her legs stabling her from sliding. Kirara curled up beside her before taking a small nap.
She picked a blade of grass and looked out onto the river. It was low, seeing as how it was close to the wet season. Her chocolate eyes focused on finding something out of place.
"Sango-chan, loosen up, you make it seem like Naraku is still alive."
The exterminator blinked and stared over at the perverted monk, "I know he is, but we must always be on guard."
"Aa, you worry too much," the monk moved his arm and gently grabbed her waist and pulled her to lay with him, "just enjoy the moment of peace we have before we say our goodbyes to Kagome."
Sango stiffened when the monk pressed their foreheads to one another, "Houshi…"
The monk chuckled before opening his eyes to look at hers, "Aa, I won't do anything, I promise. But, do you remember, the promise that you made?"
"What promise?" Sango flared her eyes growing large.
"When this is over, I want you to live with me."
"Wha?"
"And bear my child…if you would like to."
"Chikuso."
Miroku laughed at his friend. He rubbed their noses together while closing his eyes.
"You leave me breathless."
"Another pick up line, Bozou?"
"A song that Kagome-chan was singing."
Sango closed her eyes, "Miroku, I…"
"Don't, we can wait until Kohaku is found again. We will find him, together this time."
Sango opened her eyes and gently eased her mouth over Miroku's. The monk smirked into the small kiss and pressed back just a gently. They stayed like that until they heard a collective gasp.
The two snapped apart and looked up to see Kagome and Inu Yasha staring while Shippou hid behind Kagome's shoulder.
"Oh don't mind us! We were just wondering where you two had gone off to." Kagome chuckled lightly before grabbing Inu Yasha and walking back to the small hut they were occupying.
Miroku sighed, "Well there goes the moment."
Sango gave a small smile and looked off to the sky, "Just wait, when we find Kohaku, there will be more kisses to be shared."
Miroku smiled, "Is that an invitation?"
"Just wait and see."
