Quick one shot by me. R&R please. I re-did this fanfic, for A. Mis-spellings and B. More detail.

Zeratul is included in this story to give a little more detail. How did we know he wasn't there AFTER the battle?

Never-

As Fenix was fighting by Kerrigan's brutal broods, many things went through his mind. He knew that he would not live to see the end of this battle.

What would Aiur do when all of his men scattered and eventually died? Fenix knew he was one of the most renowned Protoss warriors, and his men we're of the best. Without a leader, mercenaries were nothing.

Fenix felt extremely guilty that he had not held up his end of the deal, that he would live to hold up the Conclave, and that he had never gotten revenge on Kerrigan for killing Tassadar. And in the teachings of the Conclave, he had learned that a true Protoss warrior dies before he gives up his pride. But being in an artificial body did not stop the determined Dragoon

Where were Zeratul, Artanis, and Jim Raynor? Were they alive and well? He had no way of knowing at the moment, Fenix was too busy trying to defend himself.

And then, he remembered Zeratul and the other great Protoss warriors told him never to give up hope, never believe you will die, and fight on like you were unharmed.

Zerglings leaped onto Fenix, gnashing their way through the Dragoon plating and harming him worse. An Ultralisk got up near him, and cut him down. And as Fenix fell, a psionic blade in the shape of a scythe was dropped by a mysterious figure behind him, killing the Ultralisk. It was the hazy outline of Zeratul, becoming clear just as Fenix was dying. All the Dragoon heard were the Dark Templar battle cries and Zerg screeching

After the Ultralisk was dead, Zeratul observed the wreckage. He found the nearly dead embodiment of Fenix, ripped and battle-scarred. Fenix said in a low, soft voice, "When you get to Kerrigan... tell her... Protoss warriors... never die... That I will... avenge my death, and... conquer... the Queen of Blades!" Then, a loud noise from the Dragoon blared signaling the life-force inside the Dragoon had faded.

The Dark Templar fell to his knees, and for only the second time in his long lifetime, felt sadness. The loss of a once great warrior and friend had worn away the cold shell of the Dark Templar heart.

Well...? Most of the inspiration came from my friend while we were playing against each other on the internet. He said "What do you think Fenix thought before he died?".
