Summary: "Where should I start?" "From the beginning."
When somebody laughs it usually means they have a feeling of joy, right? But when he laughed, I saw no happiness. I may not be the best person to understand feelings, but I understood this.
He was with the mudblood and weasel, as always. Weasley had said another stupid joke as the mudblood was giggling flirtatiously. Weasley and the mudblood had finally gotten together over the summer. They had started to ignore him, though. He had become withdrawn after he had defeated Voldermort last year.
He hadn't changed physically; he was still short and his hair was still a mess. He wore contacts now, so his eyes showed brightly for the first month of school, then they got duller as time wore on.
Dumbledore had let up on the dress code so now they could wear whatever they wanted. He wore all black, all the time and his clothes hung off of him.
Granger and Weasley stood up and walked away, leaving him alone. His shoulders dropped once they left the hall. His head fell down and his arms wrapped around his waist.
I was confused. How come no one had noticed this before? Why was he suddenly forgotten? I felt someone staring at the back of my head and snapped my head around, my eyes meeting Dumbledore's.
He knew what I knew, I decided. The message he was sending in his eyes was clear, "SAVE HIM."
I nodded to him. I looked back to him to see him leaving the hall. I waited until he had left the hall completely before following him.
He walked up to the Astronomy Tower. The couch ledge by the window is what he walked to. He unlatched lock hidden under a pillow and took out some pencils and a notebook.
Sitting on the ledge, he started to write, still not noticing me. I kept quiet until he started to mutter. I couldn't tell what exactly he was saying, as I was to far away. Though, I think I heard a "I'm sorry" and a "Stop, please, Uncle Vernon."
It wasn't until I looked at his face that I noticed he was crying. I decided that now was my time to come out of the shadows.
"Harry?" I said softly. His head snapped up and he stood up quickly.
"How'd you know I was here? Why are you here? And did you just call me Harry?" I bit my lip and grabbed his arm lightly.
"Sit down." I commanded quietly. He sighed before sitting next to me.
"What happened to you?" Harry's eyes widened.
"W-what do you mean?" Harry whispered softly. I looked at him, my gaze questioning.
"Something happened to you and I want to know what." Harry laughed bitterly.
"How can I trust you, if I can't even trust anyone else?" I looked at him again sadly. He sighed.
"Where should I start?" I smiled sadly.
"The beginning."
