More Than Words Can Say 2
Disclaimer- I own noting… expect the three characters that I added and the song at the end… that is MINE! DO NOT USE USLESS YOU ASK ME!
Note- This story is going to skip about 15 years… I'm too lazy to write, and besides that last chaper took me like 12 pages and I was crying when I was writing it, so this one is in the future (like the year 2034 or whatever, I did the equation! But you don't care about the equation!)
Kiki- you are SO rude! –Sticks tongue out to you- EVIL! –evil death glare- (that was to that 'lame' review you gave me!) now… OMG! What did Ian do? MUST KILL IAN! I really never like that guy! Lol! What did he do?
XoKaSsIeox- even if the story DID lead up to Draco getting remarried… I wouldn't remarry him anyway! The reason why I write DM/HG fanfics is cuz Hermione and Draco (especially Draco) are my fave characters! So… no, Draco is NOT getting remarried.
Xxxsarahxxx- I know! Ain't the name Sarah great! But the name was Katlyn cuz Kiki hates being called that and I laugh!
Now on to the story!
Chaper 2- Holes in the Floor of Heaven
It has been…what? 18 years? Yea that's about right, 18 years since she has been gone. Every Sunday, whether I woke up with a pounding in my head or I was out the night before with Harry or Ron, I still went to church. I didn't care how I felt, I went to church. I felt closer to God than ever, and I finally forgave him for taking her. At least that he took her to a better place.
Wow, do the years go by fast. Caylie has gotten so smart, she was in Gryffindor and she made Head Girl. Michael, on the other hand, went to Slytherin, and made prefect but not Head Boy. At least one of them did, though.
Every year when they come home for the summer holidays, Caylie has gotten to look so much like her. I know I said that so many times, but I miss her.
Anyway, it was about 6 years ago when they graduated from Hogwarts. Caylie even had some news when she came home… with a boy.
(A/N- I don't know if my equation was right there… but you don't care about the equation… so never-mind me!)
FLASHBACK (THIS IS NOT IN DRACO'S POV!)
Draco was sitting on the couch, watching the TV, and waiting of Michael and Caylie to arrive.
The door opened, and in stepped Michael, Caylie and a boy that Draco didn't know. He had dishwater blonde hair that was shaggy and was about 5'10".
"Hey!" he greeted them.
"Dad, just to warn you," Michael whispered to Draco, "that is Cay's boyfriend," and then he walked to his room.
"So, Cay?" Draco said nodding at the boy.
"Uhh, Dad, this is Bryan Erickson," Caylie said.
"Nice to meet you, sir," Bryan said holding out his hand.
Draco nodded as his shook hand.
"So, are you a friend of Caylie's?" he asked, feeling that weird feeling when you meet someone for the first time.
"Uhh, yea, Dad, he and I were Heads together," Caylie answered for him.
"What house?"
"Slytherin, Dad, he's like Mike's best friend."
"I see," Draco had no idea what to say. He was acting the same way his mother did when he brought Hermione home to meet his mother. The only difference is that his mother went berserk when she found out that Draco was in love with a 'Mudblood'.
(Two Year Later… -see me be lazy!-)
Draco came home from work, stepped in the door and saw Caylie dancing like no tomorrow and trying to sweep the floor but she was using the broom as a microphone.
"Cay, what are you doing?" he asked when he saw her.
"Oh, hi Dad," she said, turning red. "How long have you been standing there?"
Draco shrugged.
"Long enough," he laughed. "So now, why, may I ask, are you so happy?"
"Dad, I have something super, SUPER to tell you!" Caylie said, happily. "But you might wanna sit down."
Draco sat.
"What?"
"Okay," she took a deep breath and said, "here it goes…"
Knock, knock, knockCaylie got up to answer the door. Bryan was standing in the doorway, and smiled when he saw Caylie.
"Did you tell him?" he asked her when he saw Draco relaxing in Hermione's chair (he is only person to even touch the chair).
"I was about to but now that you are here, we can tell him together," she smiled.
'Merlin, this is can only mean one thing.' Draco thought, sitting more upward in the chair.
"Tell me what?" Draco said.
"Okay, Dad, but when we tell you, you can't go berserk on us, ok?" Caylie said sternly.
"I'll know what to do when I hear what you have to say."
"Ok," she said. Caylie looked at her father, then Bryan, then the floor and back at her father. "Dad, Bryan and I… we, uhh… Bryan and I are going to get married."
'I knew it!' Draco thought. He just sat there, with a straight look on his face.
"Dad, say something."
Draco stayed in silence.
"Dad?"
"What?" he finally said.
"Are you ok?"
"Fine, why?"
"Because, we said we are getting married."
"Yea, I heard."
'He's taking this really well… too well.' Caylie thought.
"So you're okay with this?"
"Yea," Draco nodded. "But I need a word with Bryan," he said, turning to Bryan. "Let's go out on the porch. Cay, you stay."
"I'm not a dog, Dad!" she smiled and went to her room.
Draco led Bryan outside on the porch. Draco leaned against the wooded pole, with his arms crossed.
"Look, Mr. Malfoy, I just wanted you to know that I love your daughter very, very much," Bryan said.
"I figured that out. You been over here about every day for the past several years," Draco said. "Did she tell you what happened to her mother?"
"All she told me was that she died in a car crash when it was raining really hard."
"Yes, but do you know who let her go out in the rain?"
"No."
"I did."
Bryan looked confused.
"It was raining really hard that night, like you said, and she had to run to work and I did tell her not to go, but she went, and I didn't complain. I didn't stop her like I should of."
Bryan nodded.
"Never, EVER, do that to Caylie. If you know it not safe for her do something like that, DON'T let her go, DON'T let her out of your sight." Draco sternly said.
"I won't," Bryan said.
END FLASH BACK (BACK TO DRACO'S POV)
Bryan and I haven't really gotten to know each other that much. The wedding is next week, September 20th, a day after her birthday. Caylie wants it at the same place we got married at. I was happy about that. She wanted it for her mother.
(Steve- Holes In The Floor Of Heaven)
I was lying on my bed, just looking at a picture of her and me at our wedding.
"Daddy?" Caylie said, "Are you ok?"
"Yea, I'm fine, why are you always asking me that?" I said.
"You just seem so down, ever since Bryan and I told you the news," she said sitting next to me. She looked at the picture. "You really miss her, don't you?"
"More than you can image," I said. "She was really beautiful, wasn't she?"
Caylie nodded.
"And you, you look so much like her," I said. "And you act like her too."
"How?" she smiled.
"Smart, top student in the school, and I was second, just letting you know, and she always the one to prove the point, she even made Head Girl."
Caylie giggled.
"You even have her laugh."
"I don't remember her much, though," Caylie said.
"You were so little when it happened," I told her.
"I'm going to stay at Bryan's tonight, ok?"
"Be safe." You never know what will happen these days (hint, hint).
She walked out of the room, and I heard her leave out the door. I heard the door re-open, and she ran back into my bedroom. She hugged me. I hugged her back.
"I love you, Daddy," she said into my shoulder.
"I love you, too, Cay," I said to her.
(Next week…)
The church was full of people and the wedding was about to start in 10 minutes. I was standing in the back of the church in my tux. I hate tuxes but Caylie, like her mother, convinced me to wear one. Her best friend, Melissa walked out of the room that Caylie was in.
"Is she in there alone?" I asked Melissa.
"Yea," she answered.
I opened the door to the room and Caylie was standing in front of the full-length mirror. She turned when she heard me open the door. She looked like she was about to cry.
"Hey, sweetie," I said.
"Dad, do you think I'm making the right choice? Do you think that he is the one for me?"
"You would know, you did say 'yes' when he 'popped the question'. Don't tell me you are having second thoughts about this."
"But do you think, he really, REALLY, is the one for me?"
"If you think he is, than he is," I answered. "You really beautiful today."
"Thanks," She smiled.
"Excuse me," a voice from the door came, "Your song is about to play."
"Well, then," I breathed, "Come on."
We came to the doors, and John Michael Montgomery's 'I Swear' started playing. We linked arms and walked down the aisle. She looked at me and smiled.
(Steve- Holes in the Floor of Heaven)
I made it through the wedding. At the reception, I hung out with Harry, Ginny, and Ron. Although it has been about 18 years, it's still hard trying to face them because they were her best friends.
"So, you gonna be okay, mate?" Ron asked me as I was watching Caylie dance with Bryan.
"Yea," I nodded, "I'll be okay."
That night, I laid in bed, holding her pillow, and listening to the radio.
"Next, we got that song by Hermione Granger-Malfoy, 'I'll Be'," the announcer said. Next thing I knew I was hearing her voice…
(Freya- I'll Be)
I turned the radio off after that, and fell asleep, ready to wake up to a very different life tomorrow…
