Kyoto holds the painful memories

Of my broken Kyoto

Burn in my heart

Seeing the images

Of battles long ago

My dreams

Show me the city

Once soaked in blood

Now a place

Of eloquent beauty

The Kyoto I see now

Isn't the place

Battosui lay down his sword

But a place

That gives a new light
