Whoo-hoo! Finally after a long time…Hum…

Chapter Eight

Her figure lay on the floor of somewhere she did not know of. Her vision searched for familiar sights yet, none seemed to come. She knew she was in open air and atop a tower, sky darkened deeply in clouds of black and that was all. She was paralyzed at the spot she lay. The ninja didn't know why she couldn't move.

"…….." She couldn't speak either. Her energy was fading fast and her face screamed out in pain. 'Remember…try,' she thought. Closing her eyes, her mind probed to find an answer. Flashes came as soon as they went.

'Squall…Cloud…Aerith,' she thought, 'Cloud…he's gone.' Tears leaked down her swollen and bruised cheeks. The tears burned the sensitive skin making Yuffie wince. Feeling was partially in her legs so she pushed herself up with great pain to stand. She cried out into the silent Hollow Bastion air to let the steam off and keep her mind off of the suffering. She brought her hand slowly to her face and pushed her hair out of her face.

She looked over the edge to see she was on the highest tower in all of Hollow Bastion; the tower next to Cid's workshop. Maybe if she could get down there and to his shop, she could heal herself and stock up on weapons to defend herself and get out of Hollow Bastion away from Squall. No, not Squall…a person who took over Squall and said that they loved her, but she didn't know if they were speaking their words or Squall's feelings…

'Probably theirs….Squall would never think of me like that,' the tormented teen thought. A scruff was heard behind her and she turned around. There he stood again. Yuffie backed up to the edge and he advanced. She stepped back a little too far and her foot caught the stone edge making her lose her balance and slipped. Squall ran forward quickly grabbing her wrist and holding onto the side of a stub of wall. Yuffie looked back at the fall. It was about a 4-500 foot fall. She felt as if it were her death or doom to come, which made her heart race 100 miles an hour.

He pulled her up into his arms to let her calm down. She pushed from his arms and made herself quickly make way across despite the pain. She whipped around to his piercing gaze and growled.

She found a small voice in her throat crack out, "Don't touch me." Squall just smirked to intimidate Yuffie, which seemed to be taking effect on her (although she tried not to show it.) He moved closer to the timorous minor. His voice reached her ears softly, "My, my Yuffie…I never wanted to hurt you. You only brought it upon yourself. If you didn't strike after I gave you the osculate, I would've never done anything, but I had to stop you're anger."

"Anger? Anger?! You tell me I have anger," she exploded in a cracked voice, " You got another thing or two coming your way if you believe I'm the one with anger! The only anger I hold towards you is abhorrence! You're not Squall, you killed Cloud and then…" Yuffie couldn't even finish. She looked down letting a teardrop to the ground. Squall was right in front of her small figure towering over her. He put his hands on her shoulders and she looked up and felt the need to pull away but her body couldn't comply.

"Yuffie, if you stop this foolishness, we can live happy," Squall whispered, bringing his lips to her ear. Yuffie choked another sob and began to think.

"Okay…Squall," Yuffie murmured. He brought her into a hug and began to kiss down the side of her neck then shifted to her collarbone. Yuffie was defenseless and his voice became husky as he whispered, "I couldn't stop thinking about you. Never have I stopped and when you were little and you disappeared because the Heartless took you captive, all I could think was of your safety and how you might be gone, but now we can live happily." Yuffie's eyes slid into slits when an idea came to mind. She then realized something about him, letting an inaudible gasp leave her mouth.

"Squall…I'm sorry about that, but I couldn't fend against them because I was young," she began, "but I can fend against you now!" She kneed him with all her strength then grabbed him by the back and pushed with all her strength, him off the edge of the tower and saw his body plummet down into the darkness. She gasped and the tears exploded down her cheeks. She had just assassinated her partner; the man she loved.

"Squall…I'm so dearly sorry! I c-couldn't do anything else," she cried, in soft whispers. She wearily got up from her position and looked for a way to get down. From the corner of her eye, she saw a piece of stone with a crack. She rushed over quickly and picked up the stone with strength she did not know she had. Her hands were beginning to turn a light shade of purple and red. Once the stone was finally shifted, a pair of stairs was visible. She wondered how Squall got up here without her noticing.

"Cid's shop must be around here. I wonder where he is," Yuffie murmured quietly, as she limped. She came to the bottom of the stairs and a smile lightened her mood as she noticed the path to Cid's shop. Limping towards it, she thought, 'Why was he so possessed? Where's Aerith? Where's Cid? Maybe…he's in his shop and the moogles! They might be there too."

Yuffie practically hauled herself up the steps. She had to rest every minute from the lack of strength. After what seemed long hours, she reached it. She opened the door to see it light by fire, but no one was in sight.

"Hello? Heeelllooo!?" Yuffie called out, as she cupped her hands around her mouth to make it louder. She wished quietly to herself that it wasn't true. "Squall didn't…he didn't!" Yuffie cried. "Am…Am I truly alone?" The halls of the great castle were whispering in silence. No one was there. Not a single soul lived.

After an hour worth of healing and gathering the weapon she wanted, she hurried towards the Gummi in the back of the shop. She got to the door and tried to pull it open. Using as much strength as she could, she couldn't get it open until she spotted something.

"Ah damn…Stupid Cid. He put a code on the door! Who's gonna steal a Gummi ship when your in here all your life?" Yuffie tampered with the door for a little more than an hour.

"Um…Old man? No…the password says its five letters…Hum…Moron? Nope... Squall…No…Um…" Yuffie typed in a couple more ideas that came into her head but still, none worked. The ninja's face scrutinized the door in thought.

"OH wait! Why didn't I think of it before?" Yuffie grinned evilly and said, "Bazooka time." The ninja hopped to the shelf and saw the precious yet dangerous weapon. Pulling it off its placement shelf, she hopped down ready to blow down the door.

Beep…

"Huh?" The curious teen put town the bazooka and made way to the door. "It opened…" She pushed the door and glanced inside to look for the Gummi.

"Where is it?" She asked angrily. No ship? What was she to do? She couldn't stay here forever but how would she leave? Maybe something was left in Hollow Bastion. A couple clicks came from the doorway entrance to the weapon shop. Yuffie froze in her position at the door. Who was there? She turned around and sighed of relief. Nothing...

The teen decided to leave the somewhat haunted building. She would look for a way out of Hollow Bastion but then again…where the walls down? No signs of Heartless were here so did that mean she had to stay here? Live with the horror of the death of her friends? Yuffie got to the door and found that it was locked. A low growl was let from her throat and she pulled. Squall had never unlocked it.

"Come on," she moaned. Never wish for something or else it may come true… The two door exploded open and Yuffie was thrown back once again. She slid across the floor once again and hit the wall. Once the smoke cleared, she looked up and gasped. "What? How?" A smirk hit his face and he said, "It's nice to see you again…"

"Leon! Damn it, wake up!" The blonde shook him like hell and the brunette finally came to consciousness. His hair was drenched with sweat and he wasn't breathing very well.

"What happened?" Squall asked wearily.

"You had a nightmare." Squall glanced around to see he was back in the green room. "And you're hurt…" Squall felt the blood on his face.

"Cloud…I think I know what's happening," Squall said. Cloud shifted his position to let his claw fall back to his side. "Sephiroth is letting me take the wounds from the dream so I can stop from coming back to get Yuffie and whatever I do to Yuffie probably hurts her."

"Are you saying that if you punched her in the dream she would feel it?" Squall gave a slow nod and frowned his usual frown.

"Come on…We have to hurry and get to Hollow Bastion."

A/N: Okay this is a short chappie. My mom just found out that my grandma has cancer and has less than a year to live so it's not too bright at the house and I didn't feel like writing much because of that so I thought I'd get a chapter out and when I'm feeling up to it I'll write a long chapter… But thanks for the reviews!
