BABYSITTING SCULLY

Agent Scully walked into the office, tired. Her day had not been good. Her car had broken down, and she was just now getting to work. She headed straight towards he office, and glared at a pile of folders on her desk. She picked one up and glanced at it. It was the regular old paranormal case, and she was sure she would have to do an autopsy on the body. Well, she didn't feel like doing it. Instead she sat down at her desk and stared at the ceiling, wishing under her breath that things were the way they were.

"She's what?" Mulder exclaimed, staring at Skinner as if he were crazy.

"She's been reverted to herself at age 5. I don't know how, but I know we can't have her here. The FBI is no place for a 5 year old. Seeing that you're her partner, I'm going to trust you to take care of her. She'll need some clothes. The ones she has on now are too big. Here's 50 dollars. Go and get her some. I'll watch her while you do, but as soon as you get back, she's yours." Skinner beckoned him into his office. "There she is."

Mulder looked at the little girl on the sofa. There was no denying she was Scully. "I'll be back." He headed out the door and went to his car. How was he supposed to pick out clothes for a little girl? He shook his head. For all the denying of the paranormal, Scully was wrapped up in it pretty well.

Mulder was lost. He was at the mall, and looking for little girl clothes in Sears. He decided it was time for help. "Excuse me ma'am, but I need help picking out some clothes for a little girl."

"Wife sent you shopping?" The clerk said, smiling. "Of course I'll help you. Now, what colors does she like?"

Mulder paused to think. "I don't know."

"Well, how about some pink. Now, if you know her size, I could get some adorable little outfits together for her." Mulder guessed on the sizes, and walked off.

He returned an hour later. The clerk definitely liked pink, seeing only one of the outfits was a different color: purple. "Thanks you." He paid and then left, hoping never to go to the mall again.

"Nice pick, Mulder. Someone helped you?" Skinner said, as he saw the pink.

"You sent me shopping for little girl clothes. You know me. A clerk picked them out. She said they were 'adorable and in style.' Do you think she'll like pink?" Mulder said, not wanting to face an angry Scully, even if she was 5.

"I don't know. Why don't you ask her? She's in your office. I had company."

"You left a 5 year old alone in my office?" he shook his head and then ran off.

When he arrived at his office, he saw mini-Scully.

"They're not real." She said as seriously as she would have if she were normal size.

"What's not real?"

"Extra- Extrater- Alienic Beings. It's a real fact." She said, her head nodding.

"Well, how about you change and then we'll talk about that, okay?" Mulder said, handing her the bag, smiling. Even though she was little, she was still realist Scully.

"They all pink." She said, looking up at him. "Girls wear pink, not science people. I'm a science person and I don't like pink."

Mulder raised his eyebrows. Exactly what he feared. "Could you just try them on?"

"I guess. I don't like it though. Next time, green." She took one of the outfits out and handed it to Mulder. "The tags need off, please, Mulder."
