Dark Days Pass But Are Never Forgotten
By: LogicalRaven
Well, I finally got around to watching the new HP movie. I'll keep my opinions to myself in fear of starting a message war. Let me just say I miss Chris Columbus. Well.... This chapter varies slightly in the style I've written most of the story in. Quidditch isn't my favorite thing to write, so I kinda skirted through it. You'll get it hopefull though. The next chapter will focus more on what happend back in England during Harry's absence. You'll have the questions answered about Cho, Hermione, December, Dumbledore and anyone else answered then. Thanks again for all the support, and sorry for the delay in updating.

Nothing is my Own..
The World Quidditch Cup
"Do you have the tickets, Ron? We can't get into the stadium without the tickets," Neville asked as he tossed his night bag over his shoulder.
Dean smiled sympathetically at Ron, "It will be alright mate, I'm sure she won't stay mad at you forever."
Ron shrugged acting as if it didn't really matter to him either way, but it just came off as an act. He wasn't going to beg Hermione to come with them. He had already extended her an invitation and that was enough in his book.
"I'm telling you mate, you should date muggle girls, they aren't nearly as troublesome," Dean continued, "I know this great little blond girl, sweet as can be and dense as you can imagine. She'd be perfect for you, plus she thinks magic is wicked. In a good way of course not evil wicked you know. Still, she isn't very bright. I showed her my wand and she asked were I got such a pretty stick."
Ron grinned, "No thanks, I think I'll pass on the muggle girls."
"Suit yourself," Dean shrugged.
Ron shook his head, "I'm glad to see your standards have improved since you broke up with my sister."
Dean raised his eyebrows and touched his nose, "My nose hasn't been straight since then."
"Serves you right you stupid prat, dumping my sister for that Hufflepuff girl," Ron sneered.
Dean smiled at the memory, "Yea, ole Ginny and I had some good times."
Ron swiftly hit Dean on the back of the head and scowled.
"We didn't do anything," Dean defended, "Unless you count those night we snuck into the Astronomy tower…"
Ron clichéd his fist as Dean held up his hands, "I'm only joking mate. I didn't do anything with your sister."
"You best hope you didn't," Ron warned, "Stay away from her this weekend if you don't mind."
"Glad to hear Ginny coming?" Dean asked with an evil grin, "And I was worried I was going to be lonely."
Ron narrowed his eyes but Dean was already running for cover. He had already experienced the Weasley temper at close range.
"So who all is going again?" Neville asked hoping to draw Ron's attention away from Dean.
"I don't know," Ron huffed.
"Harry, Terry, Michael and Susan are all going right? Then who else…" Neville paused trying to remember, "Padma, Parvati, Ernie, Justin, Hannah, Ginny, you , me… Is that it?"
"Yea," Ron said shaking his head, "Oh, that girl that Michael is brining from Auror training, Professor O'Riley's niece."
"That's the girl Michael has been trying to date isn't it?" Neville asked, "I bet she's really pretty."
"According to Harry she's a …," Ron started.
"We don't need to repeat what Harry thinks of Michael's date," Dean laughed.
Neville looked confused, "What does Harry think of her?"
"Nevermind," Ron said quickly, "We need to get going. We're supposed to meet the girls at the campsite."
"I'm glad Padma decided to come. She doesn't enjoy Quidditch as much as Parvati does," Neville said with a large grin.
Dean patted him on the back, "Yea, I bet you are. One of the best looking girls in our year at Hogwarts and Neville won her heart."
Neville blushed lightly, "We're just friends."
"Sure, Neville, is you say so," Ron jeered, "You're crazy about her."
"Gram wants to meet her, but I'm not so sure. I'm afraid…" Neville trailed off and glanced at Dean, "She might say something she shouldn't."
Ron caught Neville subtlety, "I'm sure it won't change the way Padma feels about you."
Neville nodded as he tugged on his bag, "It doesn't matter, we're just friends."

If St. Petersburg was a historically beautiful city, Harry never saw it. The campsite the Russian magical government had selected was just as remote as the previous host city's site had been. They were in the campsite closest to the stadium and the variation of different wizards was amazing.
There weren't tents of shamrocks or smiling pictures of Krum, instead there were pictures of Kangaroos covered in orange with pointy hats and tents cloaked in Deep royal purple and bronze.
"This is going to be great!" Terry said cheerfully as he glanced around the grounds, "My dad couldn't get tickets to the last World Quidditch cup."
"Lets hope this Quidditch Cup isn't as eventful," Harry sighed glancing around while experiencing a slight feeling a De Ja Vu.
"Look there's Padma and Parvati!" Michael pointed out trying to keep close to Noel who was looking as annoyed as ever.
Padma ran out towards the group engulfing the boys into a few quick hugs, "Oh, I was starting to get worried. Neville and the group were supposed to be here already."
"Knowing Ron they're just running late," Harry laughed returning Padma's hug.
Padma smiled and turned towards Noel, "Hello, you must be Michael's friend."
Noel rolled her eyes, "Friend is a very defining word. I prefer acquaintance."
Padma seemed taken back by Noel response but Susan shook her head giving Padma the sign to just let it go.
"So, Harry, I hear your finally single again," Parvati jeered as she took Harry's arm.
Harry shook his head, "There aren't any broom closet around here Parvati. Looks like you're out of luck."
Parvati eye's sparkled, "Oh, I can find some place that will do. Tents make great snogging cover."
"I don't want to hear about your plans to snog Harry," Terry laughed, "But all the same, stay out of my tent if you will."
Parvati punched Terry's arm and gave him a glare, "If you must know I am a respectable witch who is currently happily in love."
"Does Ernie know you're in love with Harry?" Michael teased.
Parvati turned to gaze towards Michael, "The two of you are a riot. How have I managed to live without you since Hogwarts."
Noel annoyed look had turned to a cold glare as she examined Parvati who was still clinging to Harry's arm.
"They have a bit of a history together, they had a thing in sixth year," Susan whispered as she noticed Noel's examination of Parvati.
Parvati had no sooner placed her head onto Harry's shoulder when he heard an accusing voice, "I knew it!"
Everyone jerked their heads up to see Ernie, Hannah and Justin approaching.
"I can't leave you alone for one second with Harry single now," Ernie said looking half serious.
"Oh please," Parvati said rolling her eyes, "I already told Harry he has lost his chance with me."
"Hey guys," Susan greeted, "Looks like we finally out number the Ravenclaws and Gryffindors."
The group soon began setting up camp. Ron, Neville, Dean and Ginny arrived shortly after the tents had already been put together. They were careful to do it the muggle way so they wouldn't draw attention.
Harry and Susan when to gather water while Neville, Ron and Padma gathered wood for the fire. The rest of the group helped set up the beds and unpack the firewhiskey that Seamus had so kindly donated to the outing. Seamus was just ecstatic about getting Lavender alone for a weekend, away from Parvati and Padma.
Soon night had fallen and the group of old friends was gathered around the fire enjoying the company each brought. There was talk about who each person was betting on to win. Ron was claiming it would be the Aussie's hands down. Jorge Skamp was the best keeper any of them had ever seen. He hadn't allowed a goal to get past for 39 consecutive games. Australia was almost unbeatable!
Michael however still claimed France had a better chance of winning because they had a better seeker, "It doesn't matter how perfect the keeper is, it is the team with the best seeker that wins the game."
Slowly the group started turning in. First it was Dean who disappeared, but not into the tent for a nightcap. He had instead wandered over towards the neighboring campsite to chat with a few girls he had met earlier. Justin when with him hoping to have some of Dean's charm rub off on him.
Susan and Hannah were the first one who decided to call it a night. Noel reluctantly followed, possibly because she feared being left alone with Michael. Neville and Padma went for a walk and were soon followed by Ernie and Parvati.
There were only four people left at the campsite. Ron and Terry were soon involved in a dramatic game of chess leaving Harry and Ginny to entertain one another.
"I wonder if Ron will ever out grow of chess," Ginny whispered as Harry observed the battle from across the fire.
"Probably not," Harry confessed, "If I remember correctly you quite into chess yourself Miss Weasley."
Ginny looked slightly flushed, but it could have been the fire, "Well, we all have to grow up sooner or later. I don't think I'll have much time for chess once the term starts."
"Quidditch Captain and Head girl…I guess you're following in my footsteps," Harry commented, "It isn't as overwhelming as it seems."
Ginny shrugged, "I'll manage. I'm applying to Auror Academy and I hear it is a lot more difficult than Hogwarts."
Harry nodded, "I'll agree with that statement. Potions and Magical Medicine are about to be the end of me."
"HA!" Ron shrilled, "Beat you!"
"Rematch!" Terry countered, "I just made a bad move."
Ginny shook her head, "Do you want to go for a walk with me?"
Harry eye's widened as he tried to hold back his nervous smile, "A walk?"
Ginny rose to her feet dusting off her robe, "Yes, you know where you put one foot in front of another."
"Where are you two going?" Ron asked suddenly distracted from his game.
Ginny smiled, "We're just going for a walk around the campsite. I haven't seen the stadium yet."
Ron looked like he was about to say something but Ginny stopped him, "You don't need to come with us. Just finish your game with Terry."
Ginny reached down and seized Harry's hand, pulling him to his feet, "Don't wait up for us."
Harry felt heat creping into his face as he and Ginny walked down one of the paths leading to the main stadium area.
"Remember the World Quidditch Cup when it was in England?" Ginny asked, sounding almost shy about her question.
Harry nodded, "Yea, it was brilliant. I still can't believe that catch Krum made."
Ginny giggled. Harry glanced down at her, it was a very rare thing for Ginny to giggle. He couldn't see her face, unlike Ron, she didn't inherit the Weasley height and was a good half a foot shorter than Harry.
"What's so funny?" Harry dared.
Ginny sighed, "I just never thought my mother would allow me to come to the Quidditch Cup without adult supervision."
"Oh," Harry answered, deciding not to push the conversation further.
They climbed the stadium stairs up towards the main press box before Ginny finally decided to take a seat.
"It's quite lovely up here," she stated, her tone far off.
Harry couldn't help but stare at her as she spoke. Her red hair fell over her shoulder as she watched the stares with a dream like expression.
"So, how are things between you and Paul?" Harry asked before he could stop himself, but he was mentally cursing himself for being so bold.
Ginny frowned, "We called it off. He doesn't want the same things I do out of life."
"What do you want out of life?" Harry asked.
Ginny took a deep breath, "To make a difference."
"And Paul doesn't?" Harry pushed.
Ginny sighed, "It's more that that really. He just wasn't right for me."
"Oh," Harry responded, unsure of what to say next.
Ginny leaned back letting her weight rest on the palms of her hands as she watched the stars. Harry swallowed hard as he debated if he should mock her position to avoid looking as if he were staring at her. He finally did trying to look cool and casual.
Ginny took one glance over towards him and chuckled.
"What?" Harry asked.
Ginny merely shook her head, "What about you and Cho?"
Harry shrugged, "She's still at the Academy. I haven't spoken to her much lately. She's working under December O'Riley."
"Are the two of you going to work things out?" Ginny asked delicately.
"I don't think so," Harry said shortly, as he moved out of the leaning position.
"I didn't mean to pry," Ginny offered with a smile.
Harry returned it, "It's alright."
He glanced across the field admiring the perfection of it when he felt a warm sensation touch the top of his hand. Harry glanced down to see Ginny's hand on top of his, she had her head turned back up towards the stars. Harry's mind raced as he slowly turned his hand over and intertwined his fingers within hers. Ginny glanced at him as he did and squeezed gently.
"It's really going to be different at Hogwarts without you, Ron and Hermione," Ginny commented casually.
Harry took a shallow breath as he watched the movement of Ginny's mouth as she spoke, "I'm sure you'll be fine without us."
"What am I going to do without you?" Ginny asked softly.
"Err…," Harry started but his voice caught in his throat.
"We don't stand a chance without you playing seeker," Ginny finished with a mischievous grin.
Harry laughed lightly, "You play seeker much better than I do."
Ginny flushed slightly and gave Harry's hand another gentle squeeze.
"You really have grown-up, Ginny," Harry said, immediately smacking himself for saying something so stupid.
Ginny closed her eyes, "I'm glad you noticed."
Harry blushed, "I really didn't pay enough attention to you while we were at Hogwarts."
"You had you eyes on other things," Ginny commented sheepishly.
"You mean Cho?" Harry asked.
Ginny shrugged, "Or Parvati."
"I did notice you," Harry interrupted.
Ginny's cheeks were glowing to match her hair as a smile played across her lips, "When did you have time to notice me?"
"Maybe I just didn't let you know that I noticed you. You have always been there for me, and it means a lot to me. You mean a lot to me," Harry fumbled.
Ginny turned towards him, "I've always noticed you. Not because you were Harry Potter, but because…."
"Why?" Harry pushed as Ginny trailed off.
Harry never got his answer. A moment later Ginny's lips were pressing softly against his. Her hand gently brushed across his cheek and slowly the two broke apart.
"I'm glad you finally did that. The anticipation was killing me," Harry joked as he stared deep into her brown eyes.
Ginny however frowned and turned away.
"Is everything alright?" Harry asked with a concerned expression.
"No," Ginny said softly, "Everything is perfect. Just like I always imagined it would be."
"Ginny," Harry said softly.
Ginny smiled, "I love you, Harry. I think I always have."
Harry shifted nervously wondering if he felt the same.
"But," Ginny added, "I don't think anything can ever happen between us past this."
"I don't understand," Harry started looking more confused by the second.
"Harry, I've wanted to be with you for so long. I've dreamed of the moment when you'd finally notice me. Do you have any idea how many times I've imagined what our first kiss would be like?" Ginny said lightly, "I just don't think anything that would be reality could ever replace what I've always imagined. You're my first love, Harry. I want to remember us, just like we are now. I don't want anything to taint my memories."
Harry reached out and touched Ginny face and let his lips brush against hers again.
Ginny returned the kiss for a moment then pulled away, "When the sun comes up tomorrow this will all be a memory."
"It doesn't have to be," Harry whispered.
"But it does," Ginny whispered, "It might be perfect at first, but eventually you'll realize it isn't me you want to be with. Don't you see, Harry? You may be the love of my life, but I'm not yours. You gave your heart to somebody already."
"Ginny," Harry started argue.
Ginny shook her head, "Remember last year when you started to notice me? Right before Bill and Fleur's wedding. I know it sounds silly, but I really felt there was something between us for those couple days. Then Cho came back, and I turned into something you barely noticed again. What happened when she comes back again?"
"Cho and I are over. We aren't going to get back together. She's already moved on," Harry argued, desperate for Ginny to believe him.
Ginny smiled, "I want to remember us, just like this. After tonight, I just want to be friends."
"You aren't even going to give me a chance?" Harry asked.
Ginny placed her finger to his lips and leaned in close to him, "It isn't tomorrow yet."
Harry's eyes flickered closed as he felt Ginny's lips tingle against his own.

"You aren't even going to give me a chance?" Harry asked.
Ginny placed her finger to his lips and leaned in close to him, "It isn't tomorrow yet."
Harry's eyes flickered closed as he felt Ginny's lips tingle against his own.
Harry felt a thud hit him on the top of the head as his eyes cracked open.
"What did you do with my sister, Potter?" Ron demanded.
Harry glanced around his position nervously as he felt Ginny's warmth next to him.
"Ron, what is your problem," Ginny croaked moving out of Harry's arms.
"You two have been gone since last night. Do you have any idea what time it is?" Ron ranted.
Harry yawned and gave a slight stretch, "I bet you're about to tell us."
"Four! Four bloody O'Clock in the morning!" Ron shouted, "I've been searching for nearly three hours."
"We must have fallen asleep," Ginny replied casually rising to her feet.
"Fallen asleep!" Ron screeched, "What were doing up here before you decided to fall asleep?"
"None of your business Ronald!" Ginny fumed, finally losing her cool.
Harry glanced at Ginny as he watched her hands spring to hip as she went into her Molly pose. He could help but wonder if last night really happened. Surely after what they felt she'd change her mind about having a relationship with him.
"We were just talking!" Ginny pierced, interrupting Harry's thoughts.
Ron narrowed his eyes, "Do you expect me to be that daft? I know what you were doing, you two were snogging."
"If we were it isn't any of your affair," Ginny spat in a dangerously low tone.
Ron snapped his head towards Harry, "Are you dating my sister, Potter? Tell me the truth or I'll…"
"Harry and I are just friends," Ginny interrupted causing Harry to look back towards her.
Ron made a motion to say something further but Ginny seized Harry's hand and yanked him to his feet.
"Go get your own life, Ronald. Maybe if you quit being a idiot you could have someone to snog yourself." Ginny finished as he drug Harry behind her out of the stadium.
They had barely gotten out of the main gate when Ginny stopped at looked up at Harry with a confused gaze.
"Are you alright? I don't want any trouble between you and my prat of a brother."
Harry forced a smile, "Fine, Ron likes to jump to conclusions, but he'll get over it."
Ginny nodded, "Last night was amazing."
Harry made a move to cup her face but Ginny moved, "But I meant what I told you last night. I'm ready to forget about my feeling for you."
"Ginny, I thought last night was amazing to," Harry started, "I think something could really come of us being together."
"Harry," Ginny whispered as he placed a quick kiss on his cheek, "I'm going to bed, goodnight."
She left him there standing the darkness wondering what he had done wrong.
The morning came quickly and soon the entire group was awake and ready to attend the game. The bets continued of who was going to win the game that day. Harry kept glanced at Ginny hoping to catch her glancing at him, but she didn't.
"Are you okay?"
Harry looked over as Susan glanced at him with a worried expression.
"I'm fine," Harry answered instantly dropping his head to the ground because he didn't trust himself not to look a Ginny again.
"You don't look alright," Susan commented, "did something happen between you and Ginny last night?"
Harry jerked his head up, "Why would you ask that? Did she say something?"
Susan smiled, "You've been staring at her all morning like she's just gave you the worst news in the world."
Harry shook his head, "Nothing happened."
"I think you're lying," Susan teased, "But if you say you're alright, then I believe you."
Harry rose to his feet giving Susan a flustered look, "I'll meet you guys at the stadium. I need to go for a walk to clear my head."
Susan gave him a sympathetic smile, "Don't get lost."
Harry half expected Ginny to come rushing up behind him, but she stayed seated and didn't even seem to notice he'd left.
He took the extremely long route around, trying to pass the time. He had barely gotten in viewing distance of the stadium when he heard a familiar voice calling out his name.
"Harry? Harry Potter?"
Harry turned to see his former Quidditch Captain, Oliver Wood.
"My Merlin, how are you?" Oliver greeted, "I haven't seen you for years it seems."
Harry forced a smile as Oliver seized his hand and shook it, "I'm good. Are you still playing Quidditch…"
"Just signed a contract with the Tornados as their back-up keeper," Oliver announced, "it's a big move, but I'm really excited about it. I've also been working on beating, so I can play duel position if I need to."
"That's wonderful, Oliver. Congratulation," Harry offered.
Oliver gave a cheeky smile, "Congratulations to you as well. Cho Chang huh? I knew you had a thing for her. Remember that first game you played against her. Any other seeker you would have knocked right off their broom, but not pretty little Cho Chang."
"We broke-up," Harry blurted out; tired of the nonsense saying they were getting married.
"Oh," Oliver said instantly, "I'm sorry to hear that. Well, there is still that Minister of Magic thing. You of course have my vote."
Harry sighed, "I'm not running for Minister of Magic. It has just been a big misunderstanding."
"You aren't running?" Oliver asked slightly shocked.
"No, I never was," Harry admitted, "It's been a mess really."
Oliver scratched the back of his head, "So, is anything they're saying in the paper true?"
Harry shrugged, "I stopped reading it so I'm not sure. I've been in Auror training."
"Auror training? Yea, I remember reading about that to," Oliver smiled, "Are you heading up to the stadium?"
Harry nodded, knowing Oliver was going to accompany him.
"My friend Ron is working with the Canons, he got us tickets," Harry explained.
Oliver looked like he was about to laugh, "I know that guy. He was trying to recruit me to play for them."
"He's their marketing specialist, or something like that," Harry said quickly.
Oliver shrugged, "Bloke tried to tell me it was the Gryffindor thing to do. Why in the world would I sign onto a team that never wins a game."
"They're getting better," Harry offered.
Oliver laughed, "I don't think they could get any worse."
The group was easy to spot in the crowd as Harry and Oliver walked up the steps to the players box. A box reserved for Quidditch player and professional from around the world.
"Harry, we were beginning to worry about you mate," Dean laughed, "You left before we did."
"I took the long route," Harry admitted, "You all remember Oliver Wood."
Oliver extended his hand and greeted his fellow Gryffindor, but his eyes paused when he shook hands with Ginny, "I don't remember you."
"Oh, I'm a seventh year. Actually I'm the Gryffindor Quidditch captain this year," Ginny greeted.
"Ah, so how is the old team?" Oliver asked.
Ginny shrugged, "Ready to squash Slytherin again."
"Excellent," Oliver beamed, "I can't believe I don't remember you. Did you ever tryout when I was captain. I surely would have remembered you if you had of."
Harry rolled his eyes making an exit from the conversation. The last thing he needed was for another guy to pay attention to Ginny at the present moment.
"Bloody traitor is what that mate is," Ron said quickly taking a seat next to Harry.
"I tried to get him to sign with the Canon, but he wouldn't," Ron sneered.
Harry smiled, "Yea, he told me."
"Why'd you bring him up here?" Ron asked bitterly.
"I guess I should have ripped up his ticket, and hexed him" Harry said sarcastically.
"What he doing talking to Ginny?" Ron continued.
Harry shrugged, "They're talking about Gryffindor Quidditch."
"He better not try anything. He's too old for her," Ron snapped.
The announcer broke in before Harry could make a response, but Harry couldn't understand a word. He knew what was coming because of the past World Quidditch Cup he had attended. Harry smiled as a group of bouncing kangaroos came hopping out through the stadium.
"Kangaroos?" Harry asked, "What kind of a mascot are kangaroos."
"Those aren't just ordinary kangaroos," Padma laughed as reached for Neville's hand.
Padma was right the Kangaroos had created a large circle and were making a strange sound. Harry started to laugh as he noticed people in the ground stands starting to hop, he then noticed he was starting to hop himself.
The Kangaroos changed pitch and now everyone was clapping, including Harry, although he was doing it against his will. He didn't seem to protest, because listening the Kangaroo's song seemed to sooth his mind.
"Mimicroos, they can control large groups with their melodies. Brainwashing is their specialty. I can't believe they are the Aussie's mascot," Padma explained after the Quidditch officials had moved the Australian mascots off the field.
"I think they're amazing," Neville whispered causing Padma to chuckle.
"Look!" Dean pointed as a group of men with earmuff used their wands to transfigure the middle of the field into a large lake.
"Sirens!" Ron whispered loudly.
"Quick, cover your ears," Noel instructed, but nobody seemed listen. The flying white winged horses that were now dancing across the sky distracted them all.
Harry's eyes glazed over as the Siren's song sounded like a sweet dream as the flying horses danced through the sky. He was sure he would do anything they asked him to at that moment.
"Snap out of it," Noel spat as she shook Harry's shoulder violently before shoving Michael off his seat.
"Sirens, they only affect men right?" Susan asked as she waved her hand in front of Harry's face who didn't even seemed phased by Noel's violent shake. Michael was now lying on the pavement with a dazed happy look on his face.
"Oh this is ridiculous," Noel tutted before giving Michael a swift kick.
Finally the French mascots cleared off the field and the Russian announcer introduced the two teams.
"I wish I could understand what that bloke was saying," Harry heard Oliver say towards Ginny, who he had taken a seat next to.
Harry didn't need a translator when the announcer gave a sharp, "GO!"
The players swirled around the field dodging bludgers, throwing quaffles blocking quaffles. It probably was an exciting game, but if was the first time Harry could ever remember not being interested. He'd occasionally look up when the crowd would roar, but he couldn't keep his eyes of Ginny.
She was studying the match carefully, with Oliver Wood at her side, whispering tips about reading the players. Oliver's mind had always been and always would be on Quidditch.
"THE SNITCH!" Ron shrilled pointing his finger at the field, "Francs is going to catch the snitch!"
Harry jumped to his feet as the French seeker closed in on the flying golden ball.
"FOUL!" Dean shrilled as Ginny threw her program at the two passing seekers.
The Australian seeker had seized the tail end of the French seeker's broom, causing him to lose the trail of the snitch.
"BLAGGING," that was the only word any of them understood as the Russian announcer announced the foul. That was all they need, Harry understood the rules enough to understand what all the booing and shouting was about.
"What just happened?" Susan whispered over to Harry.
"You can't grab onto another player's broom. France got awarded a penalty shot," Harry tried to explain as simply as possible.
Slight comprehension dawned on Susan's face, "I see."
"If it's a penalty shot, why didn't he make it?" Susan asked.
Harry was about the answer but the game was already starting again. Ernie was up on his feet jumping up and down with Parvati beside him clenching the bench below her.
"THE AUSSIE SEEKER!" Terry shouted pointing as Ron had done only moments ago.
"STUPID BEATERS! HIT THE DAMN BLUDGER. USE YOUR BAT!" Parvati shrilled.
"He's going to get the snitch," Harry said frantically as the Australian seeker closed within inches.
"HIT THE DAMN BLUDGER! I have twenty sickles on this game," Parvati yelled again.
"It's over," Ron said as he jumped to his feet as the Aussie seeker seized the snitch. The stands erupted.
"They won by170 points to zero!" Harry said almost breathless, "It was flawless."
"I told you the keeper makes the game," Ron boasted, "Bloody brilliant."
Harry moment of excitement was suddenly halted as he caught sight of Ginny hugging Oliver.
Later that night the group retold stories of the match around the campsite.
"Did you see that save Skamp made on that penalty shot?" Ernie recalled as Parvati narrowed her eyes.
"Those beaters are a disgrace to bats everywhere. You think they'd figure out how to use them before they made it to the World Quidditch cups," Parvati fumed.
"World Cup Bludgers move much quicker than the ones we use to play with. Plus, their harder to hit because they're smaller," Ron attempted.
Parvati rolled her eyes, "I really wanted France to win."
"What happened to Franc? If he hadn't been fouled he would have had the snitch," Ron said shaking his head.
Harry chuckled as Parvati rolled her eyes and started ranting about how Franc should have turned around and punched the cheater. Harry looked around the fire.
"Where is Ginny?" Harry asked suddenly, realizing she wasn't present.
"She left the stadium with Oliver after the game, they haven't gotten back yet," Padma answered.
Harry sighed as he rose from his place and went into his tent. It was the same one the Weasley's borrowed during the last World Quidditch cup, decorated in old shag carpet and moldy decorations that reminded him of Mrs. Figg's house.
"Troubled mind?"
Harry spun around to see Noel O'Riley standing in the doorway with an emotionless expression.
"I'm fine," Harry said flatly.
"I didn't ask how you were. In fact I didn't even ask a question. I simply stated you had a troubled mind," Noel responded taking a seat at the old kitchen table.
Harry smile, in spite of himself, "I'm just have something on my mind right now."
Noel nodded, "I'm assuming it probably isn't Malfoy."
"No, it isn't Malfoy."
"Then your friend Ron's sister perhaps?" Noel asked.
Harry let his eyes rise from the floor, "Is it that obvious?"
"No, I'm just very observant."
Harry shook his head, "I really don't want to talk about it."
"Good, because I didn't come in here to give you pep talk about winning the hearts of women. Forgive me if I'm not too sympathetic to the fact that a girl finally told you to sod off," Noel explained harshly.
Harry narrowed his eyes, "Why do you have to do that. Do you get a thrill out of kicking people when they're down?"
Noel snickered, "I merely came in here to get away from the babbling drunk idiots outside this tent. I don't think I can handle their ignorance much longer. I'm liable to hex Corner if he doesn't stop fancying me."
"He honestly likes you. Merlin knows why, but he does. You could give him a chance instead of acting like a…" Harry stopped short and bit his tongue.
Noel rolled her eyes, "I'm not interested in starting a relationship with someone who hadn't learned how to use his brain, and I'm defiantly not interesting in discussing details of my love life with you."
"You're the one who brought the subject up," Harry argued, "You aren't going to get any intelligent conversations in here. So why don't you just leave."
"Honestly, Potter, you surprise me," Noel said sharply taking a seat, "You should be thanking me about now."
"What would I be thanking you about," Harry spat.
Noel pursed her lips, "You aren't thinking about the red headed girl anymore, are you?"
Harry flung himself onto his feet and narrowed his eye, "You really are an amazing piece of work, O'Riley. Just stay away from me alright."
Harry stormed out of the tent, unsure why he suddenly felt so angry. Noel glanced behind her and closed her eyes. She was anxious to get back to the Academy, she had something she left behind that hadn't not yet been completed.
"What did you do with my sister, Potter?" Ron demanded.
Harry glanced around his position nervously as he felt Ginny's warmth next to him.
