Outsider

I sit and look around. I think I see glimpses of a smile on her face but it's gone within a second. She patrols as if it's gotten as a chore already, her confidence rising with each kill. We were fighting another apocalypse when she discovered her strength and power. She had some how learnt to wield the power of the key. It might have been because he was in danger, but she is dammed powerful; even though she doesn't show it. She hasn't fully learnt the extent of her power, but she's getting there.

I was strolling along the sidewalk, passing Sunnydale College. I noticed Dawn stomping off not concentrating where she was going. I noticed that the sun is setting, and the monsters are already coming out to play; I follow her. I quickly noticed a hand on her shoulder and pulling her towards the alley; I run to catch up.

I turn the corner to see my sister being pushed against the wall by a vampire; a vampire who was invading her personal space majorly. Reaching them, I pull him off of her and throw him against the wall. I see my sister bruised and battered, and her scared eyes; we just look at each other before she flings herself into my arms.

We turn to the entrance of the alley to notice a shadowed figure standing there. I suddenly feel sorry for the vampire cowering on the ground; he touched what wasn't his. He touched what was only for other hands. The coldness in the shadowed figures eyes were the only recognition we both had to who it was. He stepped out of the shadows and we both saw the fear in the vamps eyes. He didn't know who he was attacking; didn't know she was danger. She had invoked the protection of William the Bloody, Angelus the Scourge of Europe, The Slayer, and The Destroyer; everyone seemed to see that she was off limits, but this one.

"You must be new in town," Connor snarled, his anger radiating off him in waves. Someone touched what was his, what was only his to touch.

"Des….Destroyer," the vamp stuttered, pulling himself up the wall.

"Got that right," Connor nodded, punching the vamp in the head. He quickly got rid of the vamp and turned to his love. He saw her trembling in the arms of her sister, and new that he would get vengeance. "Baby, it's alright," Connor whispered, opening his arms for her; she gladly stepped into them.

"He…he, he tried to hurt me," Dawn cried, snuggling deeper into the safe embrace.

"Let's get you home," Connor stated, directing her towards the street.

"Connor!" I called after them, smiling at the obvious love the boy had for her. "Thankyou!"
