Yellowtail King

Story Note: This takes place near the start of the series.
This world has so much! I went with Kiyo to his school today, but then he wouldn't play with me….He got all big and scary, and then he told me to play with my best friend Volcan before he got very angry.
And then I saw Suzy! I asked to play with me but then she got my name mixed up—AGAIN! But she didn't get all mean like KIYO did and stayed happy. So weird.
Humans are all different like that. There was one person who was walking and then he tripped and said, "Damn!" Kiyo told me not to repeat it; he said it was a bad word. I didn't know there were good words and bad words….Are there "benevolent" words too?
Some people are benevolent, but some are all mean and they bully things who can't defend themselves—like flowers! They have feelings too!
And fish! I saw so many fish popsicles today in this book that told about life in the Arctic somewhere. It was Kiyo's and he got really mad when he saw me trying to eat them. All the fish were frozen; they were so good! I asked Kiyo if he wanted some and he said no; I don't know why; fish is delicious!
I wondered if I could be king of all the yellowtail. I love yellowtail and yellowtail burgers, but Kiyo says he's going to go broke if I eat so much in just one day. I asked him what "going broke" meant. I think this is the best part of being in this world: there're so many things to discover!
Kolulu told me that she wanted to see a "benevolent king." Kiyo says that there's still only three spells but that I'm bound to get stronger. I have to. Then one day I'll beat all the mamodos and become a benevolent king! I think the king right now is mean to send us all here to fight when some mamodos don't even want to!
We haven't had another mamodo battle yet. Even though I don't want to fight, Kiyo and I are best friends and I have to get stronger. No matter what it takes, we'll help each other through every battle. That's what friends are for, he told me.
Now if only I could become the king of yellowtail….
