Seek not for me in shadows

SPOILERS A poem, written from the view of the character that died, as though he forsaw this and wanted this read at his funeral. If you've not finished the book, beware!

Disclaimer: Well. I really don't have much time left for JK Rowling, but I suppose I should mention its all hers…

SPOILERS!

A/N: Right, I want to make it clear that this is what I think Dumbledore would have thought, because quite frankly, I am of the firm belief that Snape should be hunted down like the filthy slime-ball he is and killed in an excruciating manner. As it is, I think even after Half-Blood Prince, Dumbledore would not have changed. Funny, only two hours ago, Snape was still my favourite character. Funny how times change… incoherent mumblings

Seek not for me in shadows

Look for me not in darkness

Beneath wizened trees in shade;

For I did not delight there

In my living, earthly days.

Seek not for me in shadows,

For in the sun I took delight;

Turn to her and embrace her

And put from your mind the night.

Live not now to avenge me

For I was just a passing tale;

That my Sun might still prevail.

Unflinching, pure, united.

Let it bind you as I bound you

And stand as one, undivided.

Find pity somewhere deep

For this earth's poor, wretched beings;

Beauty did live once in all things –

I pray you'll see that too, as I did.

So seek not for me in shadows,

For you will not find me there –

For they were never my part of my tale –

I will always be here shining,

To cast the shadows far away;

And I know that in so doing,

The Sun in you will always prevail.
