I had to write this. I read the Half-blood Prince in four hours, and then spent half an hour recovering from shock. That book had so many friggin tricks in it; I was so surprised by the end! But I have to get these stupid thoughts out of my head, and I'm doing that the only way I know how… poetry. This poem doesn't feel… poetic, though. To me, it seems more like a bunch of lines that rhyme. Hope you like it, anyway. I know some of it makes no sense, but... I don't have an excuse.
Er… and this hasn't been beta-read… cause I wanted to post it today.
Wow. This is my sixth poem on the website. Wow.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter. If I did, Sirius wouldn't have died. Although, Dumbledore might have died in the end of the seventh book, and… the books wouldn't be nearly as good.
Summary: Ginny reflects on all the times she knew a certain guy, from when she first met him, to when they broke apart. Half-blood Prince spoilers. Poem.
You'll Save Me
When I first saw you
On that fateful day
I gaped in awe
When you passed my way
I watched you from afar
Admired your wit
And fell for you hard
Every little bit
I saw you that summer
Turned as red as my hair
Why didn't anyone tell me
That you would be there?
Then in my first year
I sent you a song
For Valentines Day
But it all went wrong
Then I got hold of that diary
And gave it my all
I trusted in it till the end
Where it became my fall
And who came to save me?
You did, and won
Everyone was elated
At what you had done
The next year was spent
With me trying to get over you
But this infatuation wouldn't
Leave with a simple 'shoo!'
Then you got yourself into
The Triwizard Tournament
When you grabbed that trophy
We didn't know where you went
And next to nobody believed you
When you proclaimed He wasn't dead
I did, though, but why didn't
They believe what you said?
And yes, fourth year
I met with you in the D.A.
My heart broke when you dated Cho
But I was with Dean, it was a little cliché
And fifth year, of course
I was on the Quidditch team
You were a great Captain
If a little bit mean
I remember the day clearly
When we won first place
You kissed me, and I realized
I liked you, you liked me, close the case!
But things turned around
At the end of the year
We both had to accept that
Dumbledore was no longer here
You said it was too much
We had to part ways
But I wanted to spend with you
The rest of my days
So what if I'm in danger
We all are, now
You-Know-Who won't use me against you—
The big ugly cow!
I don't care if he tries it
Don't care a lot
I know that you'll save me
Voldemort, or not.
