I will warn you that this has MAJOR spoilers. Don't read it. It will ruin the whole story! And anyway, why are you here reading this? Go read the damn book and then come back to share your thoughts.

WARNING: HBP SPOILERS.

No one really thought Dumbledore could die. I thought so, too. Maybe it was that thought that shocked us all.

"Nobility of spirit."

He just seemed to be always there…perfect, all-knowing, powerful.

"Intellectual contribution."

He was our guardian; he just brought this sense of comfort that we would be safe no matter what happened as long as he was there.

"Greatness of heart."

I really trusted him and his sense of judgment. No one else knew better than Albus Dumbledore.

The cold reality swept over me. Hot tears burned my eyes, spilling down my raw cheeks, stinging.

And I never saw him for what he really was: just an ordinary, old man. He wasn't perfect.

It was silly, really, to think that anyone could possibly be immortal.

Nobody never saw him as a normal man. He always knew. Somehow, he knew about everything we kept secret and dear to us.

He watched us from afar, battling the worst without interfering because he knew we would, in the end, succeed with courage.

He was wise. Everybody trusted his wisdom.

But despite it all, he died. Why?

A crazy, old man, who enjoyed lemon drops and Acid Pops. A crazy, old, wise man with a deadly flaw.

Was he so blind to Snape's loyalty?

He trusted too much--it was his own downfall.

The morning was teasing us. It was a gorgeous day. Tears spilled down my cheeks as the waters held the reflection of the ivory tomb.

So he was mortal. We just never thought he could be. That he was capable of it. But he was. He's dead.

As I stared at the tomb, Hagrid's racking sobs echoing in my ears, that burning hope within the pits of my heart dimmed. I knew he wasn't going to awaken and smile jovially and say, "What a lovely day! Care for a lemon drop, Ms. Granger?" He was asleep…forever.

And mortals make mistakes. He made a mistake for trusting Snape too much. And now, his trust backfired. He was dead.

Why would he be so stupid? He was the greatest wizard of all time.

Maybe he wanted to die.

Why would he be so oblivious?

Maybe he had a plan.

Why?

Maybe.

Please share your thoughts! I'm so glad there's tons more of HP nerds (haha, in a very loving sense) who finished the book in one day, or at least, in two or three. I am so mad that Dumbledore died--I really can't get over it. I keep reading that part over and over, just to find if Dumbledore told Snape to kill him. Tell me your thoughts and enlighten me.

Thanks!
